Den Norske Klub has been a central social meeting place for Norwegians in London for over 125 years.

The Klub (this is the original spelling from 1887) arranges dinners, lunches, talks and social events, offering opportunities for networking, meeting old friends and making new ones. Founded on 17th May 1887, DNK is the oldest club of its kind in the UK and a focal point for the Norwegian community in and around London. Membership brings many advantages, such as use of the club house at weekends i

In true Viking fashion, persistence was rewarded at our April Fredagspils. 🍻🪓

A familiar face at the raffle table, and a loyal contender over many months, was finally crowned Viking 💪 The moment was long overdue and the celebration reflected it. A well earned victory, greeted with full ceremony, laughter and proper recognition from the room 🥳

A room full of young, strong Vikings carried the evening forward, taking the party on to a new venue in proper Viking style😉

Yesterday, a family closely connected to the Club hosted a private gathering in our Coffee Room, welcoming distinguished guests from across the world 🇳🇴🇬🇧🌍

It was an evening of inspiring discussion, meaningful exchange, and a truly exceptional atmosphere. Behind the scenes, a highly experienced team ensured everything ran seamlessly, while the kitchen delivered an outstanding menu of the highest standard, reflecting the quality and care we strive for at the Club.

While the Coffee Room was in use, our members enjoyed a rare and special dining experience in the Kong Harald V Room, a setting that continues to offer both intimacy and distinction.

Both spaces are available for private hire, and evenings such as this are a reminder of what can be created when great people, exceptional service, and outstanding cuisine come together.

This hall has seen a lot. 🏛️

Built in 1679. Rebuilt after a fire in 1725, a blaze so dramatic the Prince of Wales arrived with Foot Guards to prevent looting. What rose from the ashes was this: a Palladian masterpiece on St James’s Square, with fluted Corinthian columns, gold leaf ceilings, and a crystal chandelier that has hung over three centuries of London history.

Horace Walpole visited in 1761 and singled out the arched niche on this very hall for praise. The blue and white porcelain vase you see in it today stands in almost exactly the spot he described.

Lady Nancy Astor, the first woman to take a seat in Parliament, once called these rooms home. The Free French Forces used this building as their London headquarters during the Second World War. Charles de Gaulle walked these floors…. 🧐

Den Norske Klub has gathered here since 2000. We like to think we’re in good company 🇳🇴🇬🇧

The saga of March Fredagspils has been written. 🍻⚔️

Last night the hall was full as we gathered once again at Den Norske Klub, where a new Viking was crowned after proving himself worthy of the honour. With laughter, good spirits and the traditional ceremony, he now joins the growing ranks of DNK Vikings 🇬🇧

The raffle table was particularly strong this month. Our sincere thanks to all who contributed prizes, with wonderful wines from and , a remarkable book on the history of the In & Out Club and lunch vouchers from finding its way to our lucky winners.

These evenings only happen thanks to the generosity, energy and good humour of our members and friends.

Strong traditions. Full hall. Excellent company.

Until the next Fredagspils. 🇳🇴🪓🍷

Most people associate Den Norske Klub with Fredagspils, Christmas and 17th May dinners 🇬🇧🇳🇴

But our clubhouse at The In & Out Club also gives members access to a proper Business Centre in St James’s.

Quiet workspace. Professional meeting rooms. A central London address when you need it.

A practical and often overlooked part of membership.

Another Fredagspils. Another legend crowned. 👑🍻

Last night we welcomed a new into the saga and this time a shieldmaiden took the crown. Full ceremony, excellent humour, and very well deserved.

Our raffle table was on form too. Generous guest contributions, including chocolate that mysteriously disappeared quickly, a Valeri cup finding a proud new home, and of course fine wine won from keeping spirits high throughout the evening. 🍫🍷

Strong traditions. Great company. A room full of laughter, good conversations, and that unmistakable Fredagspils energy.

Same place, same spirit. 🇬🇧
See you at the next one. 🇳🇴🍺
