After talking to several of the local shops in our area this pre Christmas period should see more footfall but it's eerily quiet. It's no secret that the bike industry seems to be feeling a pinch especially with what is going on with Wiggle/CRC, however the quiet decline of the local bike shops also seems to be happening unseen.

So when looking to buy a bike, get that shiny new part don't overlook these great resources. You can trawl YouTube and buy cheap tools but they aren't a substitute for experience and knowledge. You can get a bike cheaper online, but when you cant assemble it safely is that saving worth it.
