Christmas number one? 🎄 ⚽️

Here’s how things are shaping up for the super Sinjuns as we reach this mid point of the 2024/25 campaign…

1st XI: A first half of the season ravaged by injury. But a fully fit squad can have them fighting back near the top.
2nd XI: Top the tree at Christmas, with two huge matches on home turf to start January.
3rd XI: Bit of work to do but squad are full of double winners and have the experience to go on an unbeaten run.
4th XI: After making the step up, the team have been very competitive in the first part of the season. Can they surprise a few in 2025?

All four goals from Sinjuns 2s 4-3 victory away at Royal Sun Alliance on Sat 30th Nov.

Showing great character to come back from 1-0 down. Then resilience to hold on for a massive three points after going down to 10 men for the last 20 minutes. It leaves the team a point clear at the top of the Intermediate South table with a game in hand.

Tommy Cawkwell (1982 - 2024)

It is with huge sadness that our Fixture Secretary and dear friend, Tommy Cawkwell passed away suddenly earlier this week.

Tommy brought our 4th team together over 10 years ago where much of that squad still remains, brought together by football and a friendship that Tommy created.

Tommy’s football story was one of a poised centre mid, astute recruiter of players but more than anything just a brilliant people person - calling about tactics midweek, making everyone feel part of the project and most importantly to him, celebrating with a beer after the game with his team and the oppo - win or lose.

We will be paying tribute and celebrating the life of Tommy over the next few weeks and will share further details. All our thoughts are with his family.

Rest in Peace. 🕊️❣️

Words put together by current 4s captain Hamish

Our 4s started pre-season with a 5-2 win over 3s. Good mix of old and new faces as planning for the season ahead begins. Most importantly, much needed minutes in the tank. Thanks for hosting us and good luck for the season

A great contributor to the beautiful game and a Sinjuns legend. Martin's journey through football with words from the man himself 👏👏

"I was top goal scorer for the club most years before gradually moving back to midfield, defence and then goalie. My claim to fame, however, was being selected to play for the first team at the age of 50, albeit in goal for a very weak side and my final game for the club was at the age of 65, when I realised that I had no pace left in my legs. I qualified a Referee in 2006 and am still officiating as a club referee, quintessential poacher turned gamekeeper."
