I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…
“Evidence-based” doesn’t always mean helpful, relevant or true for YOUR baby.
Most of the research being thrown around is based on lab studies, parental reporting, older children, adults even and a whole bunch of averages!
And you know what, that’s absolutely fine, science has its place but when it’s used like a rule book, with no context, no flexibility, and no real-life understanding, that’s where I check out 🏃♀️
Evidence is a guide, not gospel and definitely not a reason to ignore the baby and child that’s right in front of us 🧡

You are constantly told that if your baby could just self-settle, sleep would improve.
Unfortunately, self-settling isn’t the secret to better sleep. In fact, it’s often the last piece of the puzzle, not the first.
Yes, self-settling is a very helpful skill, but it’s just that, a skill. It is not a magic solution. When everything else is in place, babies naturally settle better. If things are off, no amount of self-settling will magically “fix” sleep.

If you’re looking for quick fixes, traditional sleep training, or advice that relies on co-sleeping, we won’t vibe. And if you want someone to tell you to just “push through the exhaustion” or “it’s normal for babies to never sleep,” I’m definitely not your person.
