People pleasers get ready to set some boundaries! 🖐🏼🚫
These prompts came up in supervision recently and I found them fascinating, especially the second one (swipe 👉🏼).
If you have people pleasing tendencies, you might already be aware of the situations in which you say yes but actually want to say no. But how about the other way round? Do you also deny yourself things? And if so, where did you learn to do that?
I invite you to consider these prompts over the next week & maybe you’ll learn something new about yourself. Feel free to let me know how you get on 🙏🏼

What does it mean to be a transpersonal therapist? Or in my case, training to be one. I think Frances Vaughan-Clark’s description sums it up nicely:
“When a therapist is identified as having a transpersonal orientation, we would assume that she thereby affirms the validity and importance of the spiritual quest, and supports the integration of spirit, mind, emotions and body. We would also assume that she has had some meaningful transpersonal experience which has experientially validated a transpersonal viewpoint. The therapist may also be assumed to be on her own path, regardless of whether she is formally identified with an organised religious group.”

Self-compassion is a pre-requisite to showing up authentically. Unless you are able to love and accept yourself for who you truly are, you’re not going to want the world to see the real you.
Here’s a practice I recently came across to develop my inner voice of self-compassion ♥️ speak these words out loud to yourself as you read. Feel free to address yourself with your name (swap out “friend”) for a more powerful sense of your inner voice of self-compassion.

“The horse symbolises instinctual grounding” according to in Waking The Tiger
When I read that, it made absolute sense to me. Horses are such grounding beings who can intuit your emotional state. No wonder they are my favourite animals ♥️

Processing grief: a mini-grief practice
If you feel like you’ve been going through a lot lately - which, let’s be honest, is all of us seeing as life is always throwing us new experiences and challenges to keep us on our toes - this mini-grief practice is for you.
This is a daily practice of grieving whatever needs to be grieved, as it arises, on the go and in the thousands of little repetitions it may take every day.
When a thought or memory with a strong emotional charge arises (sad, angry, painful, longing etc), let yourself feel it completely, feel it physically, don’t fight it, don’t push it down, don’t push it away. Let it happen and notice it fully. As you give your feelings space, they may start to shift. Keep feeling the feeling until it starts to change.
Be prepared to do this mini-grief practice as often as needed to process your experience as it arise in the moment. Don’t censor yourself, live in the richness of your experience. All is welcome.
If you’re going through a tough time at the moment, I see you ♥️
