Last week at the HYROX Coaches Summit in Twickenham, the focus was clear. Not more intensity.
More understanding.
HYROX demands control under fatigue.
Repeatable effort across stations.
Precise pacing when the system is under stress.
That requires more than fitness.
It requires structure. It requires awareness.
It requires the ability to manage energy, breath, and output across time.
These are the same principles we apply at Aerobic Capacity.
Control before intensity. Predictable pacing.
Understanding the signals before performance breaks down.
Thank you and for the leadership and the level of organization. Strong direction creates better coaches. Better coaches create better athletes.

My inspiration to start running came from my mom.
When I was 17, for her birthday, we started running together. Not fast, but we were consistent. In the beginning, she cried. She cried a lot. She said it felt like a dagger was stabbing her chest. My mom is tough. Very tough. She kept showing up, and later that spring she entered us in Bay to Breakers.
The starting line that year had more than 50,000 runners. We were nervous, but we finished strong. What I remember most was her confidence. She was just getting started. The following year, she entered the San Francisco Marathon and ran sub-3:30 in her first attempt (beat my dad).
This photo is from Bay to Breakers in 1981, and today is her 89th birthday.
Happy birthday, Mom. You were my first running partner and my first inspiration.

Three years ago we began evaluating a fundamental problem in Hybrid Racing.
How do you maintain running efficiency when fatigue alters coordination and breathing rhythm?
My role in the development of the ADIZERO DROPSET ELITE was centered on performance interpretation. We examined what actually changes under fatigue. Stride mechanics. Ground contact timing. Stability during compromised transitions.
If the brain is surprised, you underperform.
Inside the LAB, we tested predictable breakdown points. We assessed how cushioning, structure, and guidance influence control when intensity rises. The objective was not speed alone. The objective was stability without sacrificing pace.
Innovation is not built from excitement.
It is built from controlled observation, athlete feedback, and clear decision criteria.
Performance is built long before race day.

brought athletes together under real intensity, real testing and real performance conversations.
We weren’t just looking at gear,
we were challenging the demand side of hybrid sport.
Athletes ran. They pushed. They moved.

This wasn’t about hype.
