We are reopening! (and more...)

To all KCLRPC members,

This has been a disappointing and uneventful year for the club but we hope that can change a little.
The Club's Annual General Meeting is coming up on Saturday 12th June at 18:00 BST. It will be held over MS Teams. Applications are open for the roles of:
Team Captain; Secretary; Social Secretary.
A trip to a shotgun range in North London is being planned for June. More info on that at the AGM.
With the easing in restrictions we hope to reopen our regular shooting sessions over the summer, depending on Range Officer availability as always.

Thanks for your support,
KCLRPC Committee 2020/21

Ladies, Gentlemen and Gentle-people,

Following the UK's entry into a new national lockdown, I must sadly announce that KCLSU has instructed all clubs and student groups to cease any in-person events and activities.
I'm sorry to say that this means that we will be unable to run any sessions, from now until the start of next semester.

On a separate note, today is Remembrance Sunday in the UK.
Started in 1919 by King George V, to remember those that had died in the First World War, Remembrance Sunday has come to include the victims and survivors of all wars, past and present, across the globe.
This Wednesday (11th Nov) is the anniversary of the Armistice that marked the end of WW1, and at 11:00 AM on the 11th day of the 11th month, two minutes of silence will be held across the country. I encourage everyone to take this time to think about those who have suffered, and continue to suffer armed conflicts around the world. This is not in any way intended as a political statement.

If you have any questions about our closure or about how you can support the Royal British Legion (the primary charity associated with UK Remembrance), don't hesitate to contact us through the FB page or by email ([email protected]).

Lest we forget.

Hi all - just a reminder that applications for the committee and to be an RO close on the 15th of April so get your applications in soon!

03/04/2020

Committee and Range Officer Applications now open!

The committee roles available for the upcoming academic year are: President (responsible for the whole society), Secretary (responsible for the upkeep of the society), Social Secretary (responsible for social events), Treasurer (responsible for the financial side of things) and Captain (responsible for the various competitions). There is no requirement for any experience for these roles except an enthusiasm for the club and its values. To apply please send a few words on which role you'd like to apply for, what your motivations are and your plans for the club to [email protected] . (You need not write a huge manifesto or anything, just a few words will suffice.)

Range officers are the people who teach new members how to shoot and have the privileged position of being able to use the range whenever they want. If you'd like to be a range officer please email [email protected] with your name. Range officers need to have done five sessions but if you're not sure how many sessions you've done or have done fewer than five sessions email us anyway and we can run some top-up sessions when the range opens again.
