RICHMOND TOWN FC U15 GIRLS TEAM ARE LOOKING FOR NEW PLAYERS

We are pleased to publicise one of the many extra-curricular sporting opportunities in the local area - this time from Richmond Town FC U15 Girls squad. The information below comes from Sarah Linksey, responsible for the club’s social media and marketing:

“Richmond Town U15 Girls’ squad are currently on the lookout for new members to join our team.

The team plays at the Dave Clark arena in Richmond at Richmond School and we train on Thursday evenings at 7-8pm. Matches are usually played on Saturday mornings.

The girls eligible to play are those of current Year 8 & 9, going into Year 9 & 10 next academic year.

We’d love to see you - just turn up for a Thursday training session or message us on our socials - it’s a great sport for building confidence and growing a bigger friendship network as well as keeping fit.

Yesterday we found out that a majority on the Thornaby FC committee, led by Trevor Wing, voted to remove the entire female section from the club.

This leaves over 100 girls without a club. We would like to thank all of our Coaches, Volunteers, Players, Supporters and Sponsors for their dedication over the last 3 years, you are all AMAZING 😍

We are are all devastated to hear of the Thornaby FC decision and would like to thank the members of the club who voted to keep female football.

Our fabulous RTFC U14 girls with one of their coaches and sponsor Shane Parkinson and a pic of the girls with their manager John Williams and other coach Kyle Huges-Francis at our end of season presentation, a massive thanks to RTFC for the venue and trophies a huge thank you to Lainey Thomson for the amazing catering if anyone wants outside catering she's the one ❤️, a big thank you to my son Marc Thompson at UK Gutter Maintenance for his on going sponsorship of our girls and to Shane's parents who have also sponsored us this new season, a special shout out to our other coach Kyle Hughes-Francis wife Danielle Hughes-Francis who made and framed all the girls certificates they were fab, a big thank ypu also to Sarah Louise for all her time and support she gives to our girls and the coaches ❤️ another special mention to one of our wonderful girls Chloe Hanratty who raised some money all by herself for the team £200 what a star 🌟 there's lots more pictures to come, everyone had an amazing day Thank you to all the parents for their on going support ⚽️⚽️⚽️
