Back in London Town and feeling very grateful for all my travels over the past month. Meeting new people, seeing new places, moving, playing and making memories.
Iโm back now though and getting into the part time marketing/part time yoga routine.

Although I am slim, as a woman I have unfortunately been conditioned to have hang ups and insecurities about my body so posting a picture with this much flesh on show does still give me the slight ickโฆ
However. I am grateful for all the things it does for me from the mundane to the ridiculous and upside down so here it is. On show. Loud and proud and reflecting the Spanish sun. ๐

Daria and I are so excited to announce our first collaboration together with an Inversions to Yin workshop.
Finding the balance of Yang and Yin we will spend the first half of the practice building strength and enjoying some play with headstands and forearm stands before winding down and returning to rest with a restorative and grounding Yin practice.
There has been a lot of interest having mentioned this in my classes so I encourage you to book now so you donโt miss out!
P.S We will also be sticking around afterwards in The Lodge cafe for a drink and perhaps a bite to eat so although not compulsory, weโd love for you to join us. :)

On more than one occasion this week, students have approached me after class to tell me how much they enjoyed it. That the class shifted their mood and energy and how much better they feel afterwards.
I cannot express how amazing it feels to be making a difference. And of course it is really the Yoga and the teachings that do the work, I am just the guide but it is such a privilege to be able to spread these teachings to others and so they might find a little more ease in their minds and bodies.
Sure, learning to do a crow pose or to gain more flexibility is really great. But if I can help someone find a little more peace in their mind, a little more self compassion and self love, thatโs what itโs all about.
Itโs the reason I became a teacher and to know Iโm really, truly helping people means the world.

Spent most of this weekend in a yoga studio both learning and teaching. Thoroughly enjoyed leading a headstand and inversions workshop today, thanks to those that came down!

This weekend marks one year since I began my 200hr teacher training and inspired (as usual) by some of my peers, I thought Iโd tell you why I started practicing Yoga and what keeps me coming back.
As a professionally trained dancer, I thought Iโd give Yoga a try to help improve my flexibility. And Iโll be honest, my first class I thought WTF is thisโฆ? People getting into crazy upside down pretzel like poses and lots of what I cynically considered then as hippy dippy bullsh*t. But I thought Iโd persevere, try different teachers and the playful, physical aspects of the practice initially kept me coming back. I like a challenge ๐
Then 2020. I had what some might call an awakening/dark night of the soul/breakdown. Iโd met a fellow Yogi who with loving kindness made me aware of (through no fault of my own) my lack of self love and behaviours that were exasperating this. I will always be grateful to that person for instigating that turnaround.
What helped me to heal, to find self love, compassion and ultimately the real me again was Yoga. During the pandemic, daily practice continued to bring me back to my body, back to the present moment and away from the negative ego stories that Iโd been identifying with for so long.
It was early 2021 that I decided I wanted to share the gift of Yoga with others. As a child I always wanted to move so what if I could use my skills and my passion for Yoga to help others by teaching them to get out of their heads and into their bodies.
I say this honestly. If I never get married or have children, it will have been the best experience of my life. The deepening of my practice. The skills and knowledge I have gained. But more than anything, the unbreakable bonds I formed with my fellow YTT crew. We laughed, danced, cried together. They and the entire experience felt like home. Yoga has allowed me to open my heart and mind in a way I could never have imagined before.
So yes. To summarise. I โค๏ธ Yoga.

After many weeks of working full time, teaching, learning to swim, fitting in my own yoga practice, a social life, keeping the house vaguely tidy and all the other things that go with adulting, it all came to a head on Friday when I was left feeling completely drained and burnt out.
So I fought the FOMO, listened to my body and cancelled all of my Saturday plans for a bit of meditation and me time mainly consisting of a day on the sofa watching Netflix and rugby and a lovely relaxing bath to top it off.
I cannot show up fully as a Yoga teacher and hold space for others if I am empty. And although the guilt for spending a day doing nothing was real, I knew it was necessary.
Today Iโm feeling the benefits. Iโm ready to take on a new week and give my best self to my students.
Pay attention to when you need rest and donโt feel guilty for taking it.
