LAMDA's Andy Taylor, Course Leader, BA (Hons) Production & Technical Arts, spent two days at Alexandra Palace in London at the 2026 ABTT Theatre Show (Association of British Theatre Technicians) at the beginning of June, talking to industry peers, current students in training, and to the next generation of candidates researching Programmes and Courses across the production and technical arts spectrum 🎬🎧

Andy says, "Meeting people face to face is important when discussing the features and the benefits of training for all types of production roles in the theatre, screen, and wider events arena. It's in the nature of what we do. Our BA (Hons) Programme is in its 61st year, having produced so many creative and technical practitioners for our sector. It is good to see that demand remains high for the skills we teach, and that the industry we're part of is open to welcoming new generations of talent coming in and help them to go on to influence the future."

Congratulations to LAMDA alumnus John Lithgow on winning Best Leading Actor in a Play at the 2026 Tony Awards for his performance of Roald Dahl in Giant 💜✨

This wonderful achievement marks John’s third Tony Award win and his fourth accolade for Giant.

📚 Syllabi Update | Musical Theatre & PCertLAM 📚

On 1 August 2026, LAMDA Exams will launch updated specifications for the Musical Theatre syllabus and PCertLAM syllabus.

The updated syllabi have been developed with clarity, progression and accessibility at the forefront, and will be available for free download on the LAMDA website from 1 August.

Paperback editions will be available to purchase on the LAMDA online shop in September.
