Skeeters Axe Club

🪓 A Farewell from Skeeters 🪓

After an incredible journey that began in 2019, it’s with heavy hearts we announce that Skeeters will be closing its doors. Tuesday 4th Feb will be our last Club Night.

What started as a bold idea turned into something far greater—a vibrant, axetrordinary community built on camaraderie, competition, and countless bullseyes. We’ve had the absolute privilege of sharing unforgettable moments with each of you, from first throws to league triumphs, birthday celebrations, divorce parties, and everything in between.

To every person who picked up an axe at Skeeters, cheered from the sidelines, joined a league, swapped stickers, or simply walked through our doors—thank you. Your energy, passion, and support have meant the world to us.

While our venue may be closing, the memories, friendships, and the spirit of Skeeters will live.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The Skeeters Team ❤️🪓

P.S : Throw better !

Our customers always ask us which axe is the best to throw with. Our instructor Sanch has a small collection of axes which he has ranked from worst to best (left to right):

Spear and Jackson Hatchet – a great tool, but a bit heavy as a throwing axe.

Faithful Hatchet – Sanch’s first ever axe. Has a lot of nostalgia attached to it.

Japanese Carpenters Axe -Sharp flat blade with a strange angle, good for toeing a bullseye but a scary stick for an under-rotator.

Council Tool Flying Fox – A beautifully crafted axe and very popular across the pond as both a bullseye and clutch axe.

Draper hatchet (x2) – Sanch’s favourite bullseye axe. The left one is engraved and was given as a present. The one on the right has been used to crush opponents in the league.

The Baker – Skeeter’s limited edition Baker. Made by Skeeter’s for league members. The large flat blade is perfect for all those clutches. We might bring it back for a second run soon.

Draper Felling Axe – Draper makes fine axes. This felling axe is ideal as an IATF big axe, cut down to legal minimum size.
