Happy Monday ✨ Starting the week with Short Spine — one of my favourite Pilates exercises for strength, stretch, and control.
It’s a reminder that moving with intention, slowing down, and finding balance sets the tone not just for your workout, but for your whole week. 💫
Here’s to beginning the week with strength, focus, and a little upside-down perspective. 💪🖤

WHY DO YOU LOVE TEACHING?
I honestly feel so privileged to be able to help people move more efficiently and feel more confident as result. I love to watch new clients grow a new found love for Pilates just the way I did. That feeling when they achieve an exercise they thought was out of grasp or leave a class feeling taller, stronger, pain free and confident is truly priceless.

WHERE HAS PILATES IMPACTED YOU THE MOST?
Because of my spondylolisthesis I was told by my doctors to consider whether I wanted children and told of the risk pregnancy and birth could pose on my spine. A further slip of the vertebrae could risk my spinal chord being compromised, consequently loss of feeling, power, and control of my body below the injury. Slightly terrified by this and remembering too well how painful the initial trauma of the injury had been, I could be forgiven for asking myself if it would be worth the risk?
Fast forward 10 years and having completed my training with BASI Pilates UK in London in 2016 and then having lived totally pain free for 4 years thanks to regular practise, I fell pregnant with Lily.
I can confidently say my spine had absolutely no issues through out my pregnancy despite carrying a rather hefty 9.5 lbs baby 😅 right through to 42 weeks. I delivered Lily safely and my back has remained strong and pain free ever since. For someone who struggled to carry shopping home without substantial back pain prior to pilates I can safely say this is where pilates has really changed my life. For this and Lily I am forever grateful 💗

HOW DID YOU COME TO TEACH PILATES?
I first discovered pilates for myself after using it as part of the management of my spinal injury and I was instantly SOLD! Despite having been active all my life, an avid gym goer and qualified personal trainer, I had learnt to live within the restrictions of my condition (spondylolisthesis ) and with the pain. BUT THEN…Pilates changed all of that for me. Even after a few weeks of practise, it gave me a new found deep core conditioning and strength that years of resistance and core training hadn’t achieved. I was suddenly consistently pain free for the for the first time in my life. The new confidence it gave me to return to other sports that I loved and missed so much such as snowboarding and running was life changing. I couldn’t believe it. It felt truly magical 🪄✨
