Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre/Acting, Street, Mini Movers Established in 2010, we are a Multi-Award-winning, highly successful, family run Dance Academy offering Dance lessons to IDTA & BATD examination level in Tap, Modern, Ballet, Street, Freestyle, Contemporary Modern Jazz, Musical Theatre, Mini Mov
ers, Moo Music and Acrobatics for children aged 2 and upwards. We also offer weekly adult lessons in Ballet, Tap and Line dancing/adult fitness. Our lessons take place at our own studios on the Gallowfields Trading Estate, near the centre of Richmond, North Yorkshire. Our pupils perform at the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond and also in shows, performances, charity displays and pantomimes in the Richmond and surrounding areas. We are very privileged to have strong connections with a number of Professional Performers both locally and in London's West End who are able to deliver high quality workshops and training to our students from time to time which provides fantastic opportunities for technique, development and improvement. The Rhythm and Shoes Dance Academy is delighted to have retained the title as winner of The Prestige Awards, Dance School of The Year, (Yorkshire) 2023/2024 after also winning the title for 2022/2023. We’re so excited to be able to attend workshops with the fabulous Michelle Upton.
We’ve attended Michelle’s workshops before, and they have been a brilliant experience for our dancers. Her passion, energy and incredible knowledge make her workshops both inspiring and valuable, giving our dancers the opportunity to develop their technique, performance skills and confidence.
With her wealth of experience as an IDTA Director, Examiner and member of the Contemporary Modern Jazz Faculty, Michelle is an amazing teacher for our dancers to learn from.
Workshops are open to students aged 7+ and are split into:
