**Tundra Update**
Hello fellow Adventurers,
We wanted to share an honest update with you all, because we believe you’re part of the journey — and this is one of the trials and tribulations of setting up a new company and bringing a new product to life. 🙂
Last week was really exciting. The new Tundra arrived — and they are mega.
Rather than ship a load of air, the supplier used a new process to vacuum-pack them. Great idea. Smaller cartons, less space taken up in transit and ultimately a smaller footprint.
Alas... the vacuum machine also had rollers. Think of a giant mangle.
We carried out our inspection when they arrived and unfortunately those rollers did *too* good a job. They’ve crushed the zips on the Tundra Base layers.
All the Thermo layers are absolutely sound.
The good news: the Base layers are being remade.
The bad news: it means another delay, and we’re genuinely sorry to those of you waiting.
**But there is another bit of good news.**
Those Base layers will **not** be going into landfill.
We’re arranging to donate them to a local charity supporting young people affected by homelessness. The zip might not meet the standard we set for a Tundra, but the quilt itself can still provide warmth.
As winter rolls in, hopefully something that started as a manufacturing problem can mean a little extra warmth for someone who has no choice but to sleep rough.
If you know a charity that could benefit from some of them too, please put us in touch.
Onwards and upwards in the adventure that is ADV.
Someone remind me why I started this... 😂
**P.S. They really are fantastic!**
