A follow up...if like me you don't want to upset your nervous system by watching the programme but have seen enough online that you understand why it is worth reporting and fighting against. Here's what to do.... Go to the ofcom website Ofcom

Complain about a programme that I saw or heard. Type in Channel 4, it was aired on 18th August, The Great ADHD Myth. https://share.google/LVlbNKhshtof0PMn2
Here's what I wrote if it helps:
I would like to report this program on the grounds of:
1. The title - ADHD is not a myth. It is a condition many suffer from and have formal diagnoses for, so this is factually incorrect and misleading and purely branded as such to enrage a minority and embolden the sceptics.
2. Negligence - a child was taken off prescribed medication for the purpose of a TV Show without any thought or consideration for safeguarding.
3. Misleading - according to the credits this child went back on medication and his grades improved. Thus proving that lifestyle habits and parenting techniques only helped in certain aspects of his life but did not improve his academic performance and ultimate life skills.
4. Falsifying a diagnosis - The so-called expert doctor was diagnosed for a TV Show and took unprescribed medication to prove a point. This is grounds for malpractice and should be reported to GMC.
5. Lack of impartiality - this is a one sided documentary with not one ADHD specialist offering a counter argument and if you have seen the reaction on social media, there are many. Please offer a counter documentary to support those who have been adversely affected by this documentary.
6. Lack of care to a minority group - this is a group of people who already have low self worth and have suffered all their lives with this condition, feeling misunderstood, under represented, and unsupported. Channel 4 have not only invalidated them, they have used their very affliction to gain views and clicks and to justify a reduction in needed support.

Talk about punching down. Let's punch right back up ✊🏼❤️

Gulp here are my thoughts..excuse the crazy post swim hair 🙈

I have no intention of watching the channel 4 Documentary branding ADHD ‘a myth’. But here’s what I will say…

How about we stop listening to ‘experts’ on this subject. Until you have suffered with ADHD all your life or have a family member with it, you are not an expert. I’ve heard and read it all - from diet, to screens, to early trauma. Trying to find a solution or explanation for something that the majority know nothing about. Because lucky for them, they don’t have it. I know and have spoken to people from all walks of life, with all different jobs, backgrounds and with differing levels of success who all have ADHD. It affects us all in different ways, but one thing we share is that we all feel understood in a world where perhaps we once weren’t and have support available now which wasn’t there before.

You could have lived in the 1900s, in a war torn country, in poverty or in wealth, eaten a mediterranean diet or lived on rations. You would still have ADHD. Because that is the way your brain is wired. Could it be genetic? Maybe. Could screens and sugar be making it worse? Of course, because ADHD people have addictive personalities. It’s the stuff we crave. And all the things which inherently also make it worse. You can have two children with very different brains. The same thing will affect each of them in an entirely different way. They have two completely different behaviours . Because one needs a dopamine fix where the other doesn’t. You try to treat them the same but the reality is one is lucky, the other isn’t.

So here are the experts. The ones who grew up being constantly corrected. Being told off. Being told they had ‘potential’ that they never quite lived up to. Being told they were lazy, disorganized, scatty, clumsy, or a space cadet. Here are the daydreamers. The fidgeters. The oversharers. The ones who have always been a bit ‘much’. Felt a bit ‘much’. Reacted a bit ‘much’. Talked a bit ‘much. Here are the experts who tried to please, to fit in, to mask. To not feel shame, or to feel rejection. The ones who learnt to overcompensate, overwork, over justify.

So here are the experts. The parents living with their nerves on a constant edge. Who sit with other parents wishing they had the same experience. Who have lived through hours of reading and digesting to better understand and parent their child. Who have bought the books, watched the videos, been to the tutorials, seminars, forums and consultations. Who have fought. And chased. And fought again. Through endless meetings, calls, emails, forms, assessments, and support groups. Who are still fighting. They do not want their child to have ADHD.
This is not something anyone wants.

Are some taking advantage of ADHD? Are some using it as an excuse? Possibly, and that’s for a wider discussion. Is it because they have spent their lives suffering and finally now have an answer and want the support they were never offered before? Let’s be clear that ADHD is not a blessing, but neither is it something to be used as an excuse for bad behaviour or moral judgement. This is perhaps why they say with ADHD you can either end up a criminal or a huge success, depending on how you harness the affliction.

What I do know is denying that it is real is not only hugely damaging to a minority of people who are already suffering from low self worth, but it is also massively short sighted. How about if we treated and supported all of those undiagnosed criminals, addicts, or those suffering depression or anxiety? Would that not have possibly eased our NHS, prisons, our welfare system? Would we not have perhaps happier individuals living within our society rather than living on the outside of it?

But sure, let’s tell all those diagnosed with this deficiency that what they’re suffering from is a myth. A fragment of their over stimulated imagination.

So here’s to the experts. The intricacy of your brain or the brain of a loved one is not a myth.
The reality is that we live in a world where people deem all brains should be built the same.
The myth is that they are.

I'm proud that each Blitz and Reset is unique in its own right and provides a different style of workouts. This one was specifically designed for me to do on holiday in Sweden where we visit family each summer, and to share daily workouts with my clients and members for them to do in their own time.
We all know packing space comes at a premium so I wanted to do each workout with nothing more than a resistance band and bodyweight.
I love that it shows that you can have fun keeping fit on holiday, it keeps my clients and class members active whilst I'm not around, and is a great addition for those who follow my workouts online.
In our August group this year, we also have Mums who will be joining classes in September so it's a great way to get inducted into the Mum Fit Wonder community ! Can't wait to get started and to share the beautiful Swedish landscape. 🇸🇪
Starts Monday! ❤️
It's not too late to join as I'm finalising the email group for scheduling this weekend!

Round 2 - Here we go again! But first a HUGE well done to everyone who took part in the July Summer Blitz, extended this year due to the heatwaves! It's not always easy to fit in time to prioritise yourself in the manic whirlwind of life, end of term madness, holidays and little ones, work and everyday life stresses, plus CRAZY heat thrown in this year, but hopefully these short manageable workouts and optional meal choices have reframed the mindset that a little time for yourself can be done! Plus the WhatsApp group has always been honest and supportive as ever, the female community is everything. Yes to 💪🏼

Who's ready for the August 14 Day Summer Blitz starting NEXT MONDAY?! This one is designed specifically to do whenever and wherever - all you need is a resistance band and a mat so it's perfect for holidays. See all the brilliant feedback from previous year's August Blitzes 🫶🏼

And just like that it's the LAST Boxercise class of the term tonight. Getting my boxing qualification over lockdown was one of the best decisions I ever made. I am so proud of this class - it's Boxercise with my own little touches like group activities, circuit moves, group boxing moves and a couple choreographed tracks thrown in. Cardio, strength, stress release, fun, laughter, a fab group of women and great tunes. We alternate this class with Pound and I can honestly say the two combined have not just helped me on my personal fitness journey but they also bring me such joy to teach and share my love of them with others. 🫶🏼
If you want to give it a go come to the Centre Wallington tonight at 7:45pm or check out the class schedule for the next one! Mumfitwonder.com
The September term will be available to book from next week 💜

This year versus last year. Maybe it's more hot or maybe I'm more peri but I really want to punch me in the face here 🤣🙈. Especially as we just had to cancel tonight's class which we were planning to move to the park to get some shade. I mean I would have done it ladies but I get it. It's too damn hot. So sure, exercise if you can. In places with air conditioning.
Anyway here's what I wrote last year....

Just because it be daaamn hot 🥵 doesn't mean you have to drop your workout routine altogether, it just means you have to adapt things to accommodate. See video for some tips. Most importantly - stay hydrated, find shade or cool air, don't workout in the hottest time of day, wear light clothes, reduce intensity or duration, take breaks and most importantly keep it fun! Happy movement for the win 👌🏼☀️💪🏼

Yeah...please don't punch me in the face. 👊🏼🙊
