Access Control Success at the Royal Exchange

BDS are proud to announce the successful installation of a cutting-edge access control system at the iconic Royal Exchange. This project marks another milestone in delivering tailored security solutions for historic and high-profile sites.
The Royal Exchange, a landmark steeped in history, required a modern system that seamlessly integrated with its unique architecture and operational needs. We installed Paxton net2, ensuring top-tier security while maintaining the site's aesthetic and functional integrity.

The new system features:

This installation not only protects a significant London landmark but also demonstrates our commitment to delivering exceptional solutions tailored to client needs.

BDS was assigned the responsibility of assessing the complete fire alarm system at the renowned OXO Tower, located on the Southbank, during the festive Christmas season. This historic structure was initially built as a power station to provide electricity to the Royal Mail post office, with its construction dating back to the late 19th century.

We are delighted to be have been awarded the PPM contract at Oceanic House. This historical grade 11 listed building was the original headquarters of the White Star Line from which tickets for The RMS Titanic were sold. In 2016 it was converted into six luxury apartments and a duplex penthouse. Andy Gibbs was responsible for the design, installation. commissioning and handover of the house and residential fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS5839.

We are also excited to be working with Michael Pilling from Metrus, and continuing our valued working partnership.

This week our engineers have been undertaking the weekly fire alarm testing and monthly emergency lighting operational tests at The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. Both are important requirements under BS5839-1 and BS5266-1. All results should be recorded and kept within the fire alarm logbooks. At BDS, we are committed to ensuring that our engineers provide a high level of professional service, and we keep our clients compliant.

Renowned UK manufacturer, C-TEC, attended BDS HQ to deliver product training for the CAST product range. As always, the product did not disappoint and will be used by BDS moving forwards.
