If you missed the session on personality and safety, it is now up to rewatch.
Lewis Senior and I sat down with StepChange in Safety to look at how our natural tendencies shape the way we handle lifting, working at height and dropped objects. Not the kit. Not the procedure. The person carrying it out.
We covered the IOGP Life-Saving Rules, then walked through real events where the same risk was read completely differently by two people on the same job. One saw a problem coming. One did not. The difference came down to natural tendencies, and how each person processes risk under pressure.
The point of the session is simple. When you understand your primary and secondary E-Colours, and those of the people around you, you communicate risk better and you reduce the room for human error.
It runs just under an hour. Worth it if you lead a team in a high-risk setting, or you are the one doing the work.

Back at Walton & Hersham FC today for the game against Dorking (Surrey Derby). A fast start from the Swans, although it’s now 1-1! ⚽️🔴⚪️
Great to be back at the club and continuing conversations about how I might support its future development.
We’re exploring opportunities around coaching and personal development for the everyone, alongside sponsorship, business development and wider community support.
There is so much potential here, both on and off the pitch. Football clubs can play a huge role in bringing people, businesses and communities together, and I’m enthused to see where these conversations might lead.
For now, come on you Swans! 🦢

One day changed the direction of my life. I want to hand other people that same day.
I rebuilt everything after burnout and bankruptcy, and what got me out was not a burst of motivation. It was a clear map and a system that held up when life got messy. Life Remixed LIVE is that map, delivered in a single day, in one room.
We are at Mercedes-Benz World on Saturday 17 October, from 10:00 to 16:00. By the end of it you will have a clearer sense of purpose, a better understanding of your own natural tendencies, and a practical 90-day roadmap you can start on the Monday. You will also meet a room full of people who are serious about growth.
If you have ever caught yourself thinking "is this really it?" or "I know I'm capable of more", this day was built for you.
Tickets are £35 per person plus booking fee. The link is in the first comment.
I would be grateful to see you there.

On a high-risk site, the same safety message can reach two people and land in two completely different ways.
One acts on it straight away. One waits until they are certain. Both believe they are keeping everyone safe. The difference sits in their natural tendencies, and that gap is often where human error creeps in.
I have spent years working with teams in demanding environments, and the pattern holds. The safest sites are the ones where people understand how their colleagues think and communicate, as well as what the rulebook says.
Tomorrow I am joining Lewis Senior for a SCiS webinar on how self-awareness and communication shape safety performance. We are covering safe lifting and banksman operations, working at height, and dropped objects, with real stories and practical E-Colours strategies you can apply the same day.
If you are a supervisor, HSE professional, team leader, trainer or frontline worker, this hour is built for you.
It runs Wednesday 26 August, 12pm to 1pm, online.
