🎾🕊️ The fifth Memorial Celebration event, remembering past members, family, and friends, took place at the club last Sunday and proved to be a fantastic day for everyone involved. 💙

👧👦 The day began with a junior event featuring tennis and games, followed by the ever-popular Junior Bake Off competition. 🧁🍰 The standard of baking was exceptional, with some excellent cakes produced by all those who took part. 👏

🏓🎾 This then led into the adult multisport event, which saw 48 participants competing in teams of four across table tennis, pétanque and tennis. The competition was incredibly close, with only four points separating first and fourth place after all events had been completed. 😮

🏆 The excitement continued with a playoff tiebreak between the Blue Team 🔵 and the Green Team 🟢, with the Green Team eventually taking victory and being awarded the Paul Busfield Trophy. 🏅

☕🍰 Tea was enjoyed by all after the adult Bake Off competition winners were announced.

💪❤️ It was an amazing display of teamwork and effort throughout the day.

🙏 A huge thank you goes to everybody who supported the event by donating to the stalls, raffle, and other fundraising activities. 🎟️🎁 Thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone involved, we have so far raised £3,850 for Cancer Research UK, which is an outstanding achievement. 💖👏

🌍 We had SUCH a great Open Day last Sunday - all thanks to our wonderful members, coaching teams and bar staff!

⭐️We know our Club is special – and it showed! This Open Day was one of our busiest on record with tonnes of activities for everyone, including liveball tennis drills, snooker, and table tennis. Not to mention the yummy BBQ!

🤗 We’re delighted to welcome 38 new members! Huge thanks to Mary and Sue who worked tirelessly to help sign people up.

🥳 Can’t wait to meet our new members on court, at table tennis or snooker – or at one of our upcoming social events!

🤩What a fantastic day we had at our Play Your Way to Wimbledon event!

🌞Blessed with beautiful weather, the club was buzzing with energy as a large number of spectators came along to support the players and enjoy the action.

💯The competition featured a range of categories, including men’s doubles, ladies’ doubles, and boys’ under-14s. Matches were played using the exciting Fast4 scoring system, which kept things moving quickly and created plenty of thrilling, closely contested encounters throughout the day.

🥳Congratulations to our club champions, who will now go on to represent us in the area final!

🤞We wish all our winners the very best of luck in the next stage and hope they progress all the way to the national finals.

🍓Good luck as well to everyone who took part who will now be entered into the Wimbledon Picnic prize draw—hope you enjoy the experience!

Our PRO-AM Snooker Competition final between snooker members, Simon and Marcos, was compelling viewing, with some closely contested frames. Both players felt the pressure of the occasion with the potential glory of becoming GTC’s first PRO-AM champion! But a frame 2 in which Marcos boasted a swift 74 clearance helped him settle into the match, and he was the eventual winner 4-0.

Congratulations to both finalists and to all those who competed in earlier rounds.

🐣Wow, what a great Good Friday Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament!

🎾We had 16 pairs take part in a lively and enjoyable day of tennis.

🦆The tournament began with a round robin stage, giving all pairs plenty of court time during a busy morning of activity.

🎉This format ensured a great atmosphere, with players rotating regularly and spectators treated to a series of great matches played in good spirit. Hot cross buns were enjoyed by all!

🏆Congratulations to champions Pip and James, and runners-up Elaine and Ian. Prizes included tennis balls and Easter eggs - yum!
