Blackheath Fencing Club

The season may be over but we had time to win one last medal. 🏅

Earlier this month, fencers from Blackheath made the trip across the capital for the London Region Novice and Intermediate Open.

Well done Femi for winning a hard earned bronze medal in the Intermediate Foil.

Dan, Michael, Ben, and Mayvis all put in a good showing in foil too before going out in the DE rounds. With Ben taking part in his first competition.

They were joined by Adrian who did a great job carrying the torch for our epee contingent before being eliminated.

The eyes of the sporting world were on Blackheath this weekend as we reignited South London’s hottest rivalry.

We were delighted to welcome our friends from Kingstonfencing back to Blackheath for a three weapon team match.

It couldn’t have been closer as Blackheath lost by the tightest of margins - 119 to 120!

A great result for the club against an incredibly experienced Kingston team. Well done to everybody involved who fenced amazingly.

And thank you to our friends from Kingston, we can’t wait to see you again.

It was another great weekend for Blackheath Fencing Club and our fencers. Luke, Jeff, and Henry were in Sheffield representing us at the British Senior National Championships.

They did the club proud with Jeff and Luke finishing 38th and 40th in Sabre, while Henry ranked 37th in Epee.

We’ll see you back on the piste on Tuesday.

Our spring term concluded with the finals of our 2026 épée club championships. Thanks to all who took part this year. Congratulations to Lorenzo on beating our defending champion for the last 3 years, Gully, in the final and to our medallists:
