It's a treat to see bikes we supplied to our clients out in the wild - the first image here is pre handover in June 2020, the second image is the same bike having just completed the 350 km King Alfred's Way off road adventure route.

This one is particular special as we went for some unqiue spec and component choices, so to hear feedback the bike was perfectly specced for the terrain is a real pleasure.

There’s a few ways to breath some life back into an old and very well used bike. A full strip down and rebuild, shiny new wheels or even a fresh paintjob. In this case, the client opted for all of the above.

Opting for an Omakase paintjob where full creative control is handed to the painter is a very brave move and requires a certain amount of trust. Only a very limited design brief is given, the artist does the rest and you don’t get to see it until it’s finished.

Luckily, the guys at Quinntessential Customs are incredibly good at what they do and have managed to produce something that the client absolutely loves.

This stunning custom painted S-Works Tarmac SL7 was completed in collaboration with Quinntessential Custom Workshop.

The off-white body with gold leaf graphics really pops and creates something totally unique for the owner. With popularity of Tarmac SL7's we are always really excited to work with clients on creating something that is slightly different or unique - that may be the custom paint, or even small changes to the stock bike spec. Buying a modern road bike is an expensive venture, and we believe that you shouldn't need to settle for "off the shelf", but our clients can have that perfectly suited dream bike.

Once upon a time this was a stock Diverge Expert, but with a raft of impressive upgrades this is a fully fledged wolf in sheep's clothing.

The groupset has been upgraded to SRAM Red / Eagle AXS mix dropping the weight and increasing both smoothness and durability of the drivetrain. The wheels are Zipp 353 NSW - at 1250g these are some of the lightest production wheels on the market, offering a lively, snappy ride . Also note the Quarq Tyre-Wiz for optimised tyre pressures.

Overall this a great example of how you don't have to be constrained by the stock spec of a particular bike model, and if you have certain changes or particular components in mind, then there are really no limits to the build you can create.

We're great believers that you should build the bike that you want and not the bike others think you should build. As long as we can achieve the perfect fit, we're happy...

Having said that, there's something wonderful about a handmade Italian Colnago frame being matched with a Campagnolo groupset and wheels. It's a build that is rich in heritage, but also cutting-edge in terms of performance.

No amount of photos will do the exceptional finish of this bike justice but we thought we’d give it a go anyway.. This bike has turned more heads than a coven of chiropractors since we put her in the window last week. Absolutely stunning from every angle!

The Trek Speed Concept has been far and away our most popular Triathlon bike of the last decade. In fact we believe we've completed more Speed Concept builds than anyone in this time, so we've been eagerly awaiting this frankly long overdue disc brake update to the platform.

Disc brakes aren't the only update however - Trek have introduced the Isospeed from the Domane range that gives excellent vibration dampening over long rides and rough roads. Likewise a redesigned cockpit keeps things super aero, but keep the huge range of adjustment that has made the Speed Concept such a popular option for triathletes (and bike fitters). Finally updated storage and hydration systems have plenty of capacity for long course events, yet are integrated clevery into the frame and cockpit retaining the aero credentials of the bike and keeping the aesthetics slick.

We couldn't be happier with how this S-Works Tarmac build came together - the client is unlikely to ever see an identical spec out there with the seldom seen white decal Roval Rapide wheelset (giving the bike a "Pro Team" look), plus the subtle touch of colour matched Supacaz bartape.

A great example of what is possible with custom builds - if you have a vision we are always excited to discuss new bike builds to make that dream bike a reality.

This is what custom bike builds are all about. This Tarmac is built to perfectly match our clients fit data, brief and budget.

The super modern paint design from Specialized somehow manages to be both sleek and stealthy, whilst having real detail and intrigue that means there is not a single angle this bike looks 'boring' from.

As Specialized don't equipped their top spec S-Works framesets with Ultegra or any other mid-level groupsets, we worked with our client to custom spec the bike to perfectly suit their needs. The end result features the latest Ultegra DI2 12 speed groupset and Zipp 404 Firecrest wheelset - you'd never guess these options were "mid-range", either from the aesthetics or the ride performance. Truly a special build we were honoured to work on.

The details and unique components on this build are almost too long to list, but we're going to do it anyway..

The bike’s owner is well-travelled and can call a few places ‘home’ so the carbon seattube holds an eight-colour multi-layered stylised stack of flags and a monogram.

The frame is balanced with a colour-matched ENVE fork with airbrushed branding and a custom made seat mast topper.

This stunning Mosaic is built to for the clients brief to be an all round road bike, but it's primary use will be winter riding for which titanium is simply the perfect material for a bike frame. The RT-1D is custom built to order, everything from geometry to seatpost diameter and BB type was chosen by the client to suit their brief, and then this was expertly assembled by our workshop team.

There is an interesting mix of colours for the Tarmac SL7 this year, noteably the complete bikes having their own colour not available as a frameset. Our first build here looks absolutly stunning with the slight pearl flake to the paint, yet still being relatively neutral.

This build is completed with the long awaited Dura Ace 9270 groupset of which initial impressions are very good - fast, slick shifting and silent brakes are two of our favourite features so far, and overall while not a radical change does feel like an upgrade over the outgoing 11 speed Shimano groupsets.

Finished with Roval Rapide wheels and Rapide Cockpit, this build is the perfect S-Works Tarmac SL7 setup and we have been so pleased to work with the client on this project over the last few months.

The first impressions from the Shimano Dura Ace groupset are excellent. We always like to speak to mechanics about how any new components / bikes go together as they get instant experience with build quality and ease of use. Our mechanic's feedback is front and rear shifting is incredibly smooth and fast, brakes have lot of modulation and are totally silent and setup / installation could not be easier.

This build features the Dusty Blue S-Works Tarmac frameset (that looks radically different to the stock photos) and is rounded out by Zipp 404 Firecrest wheelset. It's no secret Zipp had a difficult few years of production, but their latest wheelsets seem to have got them back on track as one of the best wheel brands on the market.

The Crux is somewhat of a classic in the cyclecross world, but for 2022 Specialized have updated the model to be more in line with modern gravel bikes. That means tweaked geoemtry for more stability and huge tyre clearence, all bundled with a super light frameset (~725g for a 56 cm).

This particular model is built for the client to be a serious gravel race machine - considering events like Unbound in the USA, this spec is built for fast fire roads and technical terrain alike.

The OPEN MIN.D frameset is a great addition to the OPEN family and a relatively unique option in the current bike market in keeping with the classic round tube shape, but providing a super light, ultra comfortable ride.

This bike was specced for our client to have a true all round road bike that is fast and light for rolling hills, whilst still retaining enough for compliance for long days in the saddle. The frame is inherently comfortable owing to the seat mast and those ultra skinny seat stays, with the Roval Rapide wheels leaning back towards that performance side so the bike feels fast and snappy, and finally the Dura Ace 9270 groupset completes things with quick, precise shifting.

This build forgoes the hyper-aero integration of many modern race-focused road bikes, but what you gain is a sublime ride quality that is equally at home on short fast blasts as it is on 5 hour long epic rides.

The UPPER is OPEN's lightest gravel frame that is chosen by those who seek the best performance from their gravel bike, or those who just want matte black!

The stand out of this build must be the Chris King Matte Mango hubs - they truly set off the overall build and give a perfect 'pop' of colour without being garish.

We cannot think of a better specificaiton for a fast, fun all purpose road / gravel bike - excellent choices by the client and we were very proud to work on this project.

We are huge fans of the Aethos here at Bespoke Cycling - a clever carbon layup means it's comfortable for endurance riding, whilst still being light and responsive for faster rides.

This build in particular focuses on the racing end of the spectrum with the new Dura Ace 12 speed groupset, Enve's AR handlebar and Enve 5.6 Wheels to give the bike that 'fast standing still' look.

This also has to be one of the best finishes of the S-Works Aethos frame - the patchwork, mottled effect of raw carbon fibre gives a lot of detail under the Rose gold tinted lacquer. A real stunner and we know this bike will be trained on hard and ridden fast!

An early contendor for Bespoke Bike of the Year, this Madone SLR was specified with only the highest quality components and we're pleased the client was thrilled with the end result.

The Amethyst paint comes from Trek's Project One custom programme. A uprisingly this finish is no additional cost, but is included in the stock options. Paint that looks different from every angle in different lighting settings is sure to mean our client never gets bored of this design and I'm sure they'll be admiration from passing cyclists.

The build is completed with Shimano Dura Ace 9270 and Enve 5.6 with the incredible rare Black/Gold Chris King hubs. These might be one of the most limited edition King colours ever due to production issues in the last year meaning few were produced and even fewer made it to the UK.

It was an honour for us to put together this bike for our client and every member of the team from bike fitter to mechanic enjoyed being involved with this build.
