 the Jka-England National Karate championships was held on Saturday, the 20th of June 2026 at the usual venue the K2 in Crawley. It was another huge event that continues to grow year after year. Ironically Westminster sent its smallest ever squad consisting only of 10 competitors, it’s still delivered an outstanding performance, despite the reduced team and we brought home an incredible nine medals including four golds. One of those gold medals was won by Francesca Sechi in the over 40s category, an excellent achievement. Francesca has stepped into the Spotlight following the recent move of her daughter to Italy and her success is thoroughly deserved. Mohammad Al Manne continue to inspire with another outstanding performance winning gold in Kumite and silver and kata. 16-18 catagory. His consistency, dedication and determination continue to set a great example for the club. To cap off fantastic day Sophie Akraminejad was awarded the Junior female outstanding achievement trophy which was for winning two gold medals, a fitting recognition of an exceptional performance. Well done to our medal winners and to everyone who represented Westminster with such dedication, determination, and spirit. Once again, the team proved quality can outweigh quantity producing a remarkable result from our smallest squad yet.

Westminster Dojo has reopened after a short closure due to water damage. Still not resolved so will close again soon I presume. Get the training in while you can. Oss

Congratulations to Westminsters Mohammed, along with his team mates Lorenzo (Newark) and Michael (Invicta) on winning a Kata bronze medal at the Jka European Karate Championships 2026.

Tarryn trains with us at Westminster. She’s off to Norway this weekend to compete in the JKA European Championships. We wish her the best of luck Oss.
