The Greyhounds would not be where they are without the help and support of everyone above!

Today we celebrate women all over the world.

Let’s keep fighting the good fight for women’s rights and tonight, these women will play their butts off to showcase that watching women’s sport is worthwhile!

Coming at you next is Kirsty Bard

Kirsty is our founder, our chairperson, our defender ( #76) and the rink manager.

The Greyhounds is the second team that Kirsty has started in the last 3 years, (Kirsty is also a founder of the Cambridge Kodiaks) creating space and opportunity wherever she can to get women into ice hockey. Kirsty is taking a backseat from playing this season to focus on game day experience. She is always there behind the scenes ensuring that all the razzle and dazzle happen during the home games.

Female Volunteers (and Grandad)

If you don’t know then you don’t know! Big up to everyone in this pic and shoutout to those not in this photo.

Games simply would not happen without the help and support of our volunteers. All the amazing women you see in this photo (and shots on goal grandad) work alongside the Greyhounds to ensure that games run as smooth as possible. They are always ready to help at a moments notice. Honestly, we love you all so much and are so thankful for your hard work, dedication and hype for this team! Please never leave us! 😅🙏

Today’s Greyhound of the day is Vivian McGee

Viv is an inspiration to the game. She grew up playing hockey at Ally Pally, playing for the Hounds. She now plays for the London Dragons, Cambridge Kodiaks, Queen Bees Elite, Lee Valley Lions AND she is the assistant coach for the Greyhounds. All of this on top of having a job and going to university. Her dedication is quite literally unbelievable.

Fun Fact: Viv’s first game with Lee Valley Lions, a puck hit her in the jaw and she played the entire game, and then after turns out it was broken in 2 places. SHE PLAYED AN ENTIRE GAME WITH A BROKEN JAW! This powerhouse is literally unstoppable.

Next up are our young stars! The Jr Girls of

FUN FACT!

Did you know that directly before all Greyhounds games, the Hounds girls U16 games happen. What’s cool about this is that a fair few of the Jr Greyhounds girls play on this team also. Which means that a third of our team play BACK TO BACK games!

Oh, to have that youthful energy!

Despite being probably knackered when it’s time to swap into the Greyhounds jerseys, each and every one of the girls gives it their absolute all. Their passion for the game is undeniable. Some of them even play for the Cambridge Kodiaks in Division 1, .

Honestly. Ice Hockey at Ally Pally is so special. Everyone who plays hockey here, whether it be rec or league, is a member of the Haringey Ally Pally family.
If you have a ticket to the Greyhounds game, then you can also come in early to see the U16 girls play right before us, your ticket will allow you entry to support our jr Greyhounds, their faceoff is at 16:55. So why not come early and support all women and girls in this incredible sport!

Today’s Greyhound of the day…

Olga Glazer

Olga is our Team Manager. She is another driving force for getting the Greyhounds up and running. Olga does so much for the Greyhounds and without her, there simply wouldn’t be a team. An original member who always goes above and beyond to ensure that the team is run smoothly. You are an incredible woman, Olga. Thank you!
