Capoeira London - Aprendendo Angola

Tomorrow it'll be Pedro's last class in London this time, 8pm at LSE. We hope to see you all there to play some capoeira and coco :) here is an interview that he gave in Brazil right before he departed. Have a look to see a little bit of the coco we are doing tomorrow!

Hi guys, as you know next week is the LSE Fresher’s Fair, pretty important appointment and a chance to get more new LSE students interested in joining the group.

The fair is on Monday 01/10, 10am-6pm (http://www.lsesu.com/ents/event/1577/)
and Tuesday 2nd from 10am to 3 pm http://www.lsesu.com/ents/event/1578/), St Clement’s house (just round the corner).

It would be a big help if you could join for a few hours or just pop in to help us hand out flyers and finally I have set up a doodle, so we can plan to have a roda in Hougthon street (still awaiting official clearance for that, but we should try and have one or more rodas, as tradition demands). Please fill in your indicative availability so we can plan more in detail.

This Friday, 27th July, Pedro Campolina will be our special guest for our traditional roda do Axé. Pedro is a very special person for us, like a part of the MarAzul family. He was with us for almost 2 years, and we encouraged him to start his own group and his own work. He found a good path for his work with Capoeira, combining it with his musical abilities and becoming a respected professional promoting afro-brazilian culture in London.

At the end of the roda we will have the opportunity to learn more about his vision and understanding of Capoeira in London and the world in general, as well as his history of capoeira as a whole.

Hope to see you again for a Friday full of energy and Axé!

"Hi just a quick list of things for the party on 15th july: we have a healthy eating policy at nursery we should follow, so here some suggestions: tomatoes cucumber carrots sticks celery stick homous guacamole salads, pasta dishes, feijoada, moqueca de camarao (jocking... But who volunteers for it, wow!!!) rice dishes, bread, breadsticks, fruit, dried fruit, almonds pistachios, in case all meats should be possibly halal, but I think that is less strict And no pork please. Am going to circulate a list tomorrow at kids class and tonight or Wednesday at LSE.
We also need disposable table cloths, plates, cups, tissues cutlery heavy duty bin bags balloons and banners. We circulate a list so all volunteers can inform us what they re going to bring... Aprendendo Angola Juniors (+ some Seniors) at the Mini Olympics..

Hi guys, don't forget this afternoon (at 4 pm + 5.30 pm) we will be doing a short performance and open class at the MINI Olympics and you are all more than welcome to join!
Pedro, Claudia and I are taking the big instruments, but if you happen to have an extra pandeiro or agogo or reco reco in your briefcase, please take it with you, the space is huge and open air so we need to make our bateria (and our singing) loud enough for people to hear. We should be finished by 6 pm, in time to grab a drink nearby and go to the Pe De Jurema gig at Floripa.. see you later Turco
