This week we've had a run report sent in from a long time Bexley parkrunner, as he celebrates his 400th parkrun! There were plenty of other milestones and even a wedding celebration too! Take a read at:

Huge thanks to the volunteers this morning in the rain. Well done to all our finishers too!
We did get everyone scanned correctly, but there may be a couple of 🌧️ precipitation related anomalies ☔ on timings. If you're majorly affected please drop us an email and we'll try and correct.
Have a good bank holiday!

Course check all good this morning and dare I say it we have had a little bit of rain this week just gone so some tinges of green have come back to the grass and Danson's starting to look less like sub-Sahara savannah and more like a UK park !
The noise from the parakeets was deafening but it should have calmed down a bit by 9.00.
A bit cooler this morning and there's a strong chance of more rain today.
Enjoy your run and your Bank Holiday weekend.
Best wishes
Penny & Rich

Well as we wonder what weather we'll have for Saturday, a quick glance at the upcoming roster shows a good spread of sunshine with a couple of cloudy spots.
Could you be the silver lining to our clouds? Just looking for a marshal, funnel manager and a couple of scanners.
Drop us an email if you can help to get added in: [email protected].
Thank you! 🌞☁️☔

Good morning Parkrunners and Parkwalkers!
Thanks Rich and Penny for this week’s course check:
Thankfully we've had a bit of rain this week so the course is looking a little greener and possibly a little less firm in the grassed areas.
All was good this morning and nothing untoward to report.
All of the few remaining tents from the Spark in the Park by the Bean Road entrance have been taken just a few portaloos & large waste bins remain, but nothing to trouble the Saturday morning parkrunner.
We noticed a few anglers' tents alongside the bank of the lake but it was all fairly quiet this morning; perhaps because the temperature has dropped and it was slightly cooler early doors this morning.
Good luck stay well and enjoy your weekend.

Good morning all, please see this week's course check. See you soon
Hi guys,
Still doing the rain dance without any noticeable signs of success. Although we did feel a few brief drops of rain as we walked round the course. I thought it was sweat at first !
Course check all good this morning and again nothing untoward to report. A few anglers had set their rods up along the bank of the lake but other than that the route is clear.
It's likely to be another very hot one so stay safe and stay hydrated
All the best enjoy your run, your weekend and the coming week.
Best wishes,
Penny & Rich

This week's pre event course check report... thanks Rich and Penny!
When will this dry weather end ?
Another week of next to no rain & the park is even drier. The grass almost looks like a desert plain it's so brown. The course check was all good this morning nothing untoward to report. Only a few runners and walkers out presumably hoping to avoid the hot morning sun later on.
The stage is all set for the Park Rock Festival by the Start of the course later on today so if you're going get your Air Guitar tuned up
We'll probably be moaning about how wet it is in the coming winter months but that's the British for you - always complaining about the weather.
This Saturday will be Coco's last run with me for a while as the parents and grandkids return late on Sunday evening. We don't like to tell her, as it'll go to her head, but we have rather enjoyed having her stay, and her little Maltese Terrier companion, even though she has an annoying habit of losing her toys in our garden!
Anyway enjoy your run and your weekend & stay hydrated especially if you're running on four legs !
NB I put a water dog bowl out at the Finish by the tree nearest to the finish funnel as you walk back to the dam for any parched pooches !
All the best
Penny & Rich
