Tomorrow gyms will be closed again, yes for me its very frustrating, very annoying and extremely disappointing that the government didn't see gyms as Essential πŸ€”

But we have been here before, we managed to get through it last time and we will again!

My plan of action for the next 4 weeks weeks (and likely will be longer if I was a betting woman.....)

1. Accept it and focus on what you can control

2. Set some achievable goals during the next 4 weeks

3. Use the time to focus on self care (in whatever form that means for you)

For me im going to try out a few different workouts, less focus on weights, more focus on pilates, yoga, HIIT workouts etc.

I'm also going to set myself some small goals....I call it my ABC.....

A for Alcohol 🍷🍹
B for Biscuit πŸͺπŸͺ
C for Chocolate 🍫

and no my goals are not to consume more of these but to ELIMINATE until Wed 2nd Dec

Anyone up for the challenge???
Share your goals for inspiration

Right off to eat and drink as much of A. B. C. today 🀣🀣🀣🀣

Thought I would share that this week I managed to hit some PB's πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ
Hip Thrusts, from 40kg in April, (having never done this lift before) to 70kg.

Yes ROM not quite there yet, need more lift of hips, need to keep chin on chest but was my first attempt and feeling chuffed πŸ˜ƒ

So what did I do to achieve this?

βœ… Keep turning up at the gym, consistency is key

βœ… Milking the programme (not chopping and changing) kept the same training programmes for last 6 months

βœ… Most importantly
tracking my Menstrual Cycle

For women this is so important to know when you feel at your strongest.
Having tracked over a number of months, I've noticed some weeks my strength performance was lower than other weeks, with nothing major changing in my routine, nutrition or sleep.

My "strongest" is during the Follicular Phase (the phase straight after your period finishes).
This is when oestrogen levels are higher and can result in muscle gains.
Of course not everyone is the same and everyone will feel differently but its worth noting what times of the month you feel fatigued, stronger, body temp rising etc and work with your cycle to your advantage.
Massive awareness and research is starting to be done which is awesome!
Also a lot of contradicting articles so my motto understand the basics and track your own pattern πŸ™Œ

Feeling proud to have run my first 10km. Longest since 7+years when I ran the Reading half marathon. Since then had to have back surgery and slowly work myself up to strength and confidence to run again. Against the advice of my consultant, but I know I'm stronger, my core is fully engaged and I ensure a good pre and post run routine to avoid any further injuries!

Goes to show what you can achieve when you put your mind to it and you are patient ☺☺

Goal was to run under 1 hour, but again with time and patience I'm sure that will come.

First time back in gym since been back, was reluctant but a habit is a habit.....but wtf, why do guys think it's ok to use benches without any towel and even worse not wiping down after use?
In a normal world it's not acceptable, in our current pandemic is utterly 100% not acceptable!
Guys less admiring of your biceps and get smart, use an fking towel!

Wont stop me though, I'm.well protector and my bench looks like I'm chilling on the beach!

Carry on working out but please stay safe
