Another Chairmanβs Round as all three teams secured wins β

The 3βs take top billing this week after securing the Junior 3S title with a game to spare! Batting first, runs flowed with Akhtar (81), Shaw (54) and N Gadsby (52) all passing fifty, alongside Chattopadhyay (46) and G Dean (34), as the Foxes piled up 286/4. Wickets were shared around in reply, with youngster Seb Taylor the pick of the bowlers with 2/33 from eight overs.
The 1βs continued their excellent league form with a win away at Exning. Beer (3/34) and Webb (3/45) led a strong bowling display to restrict the hosts to 194/9. In reply, Kaufman (53) and Webster (76) picked up where they left off last week with another century partnership, before Doel and Clark saw the Foxes home. The 1βs are now unbeaten in the league since 9th May.
The 2βs finished their league season with a five-wicket win over Stamford. Coleman and Hawkins took three wickets apiece as the visitors were restricted to 211/9, before Ferdie Piper led the chase with a superb 99, falling agonisingly short of a first Foxes century. Hawkins and Coleman then finished the job to round off a solid season in Division 3.

A big shoutout too to The Leys, Saffron Walden, Girton and Team Ash for some great cricket throughout the day.
Thank you to all the players, organisers and everyone who came along and helped make it such a brilliant occasion in Alanβs memory.

All 3 teams are in action tomorrow and itβs the final game of the season for the 2nd XI who look to build upon last week's win.

Week 16 Results π
The 1βs wrapped up the Onyx Div1 title with two games to spare in a high scoring match at Foxton. Centuries from Kaufman (123) and Webster (123) plus a quick-fire 77 from Atkinson set the platform for a commanding total of 369/6. In reply, the visitors never looked like threatening in the chase despite several good partnerships. Hill (3/46) and Mahendra (3/71) were the key wicket takers as Newmarket were kept to 271/8 from their 50 overs.
In a low scoring game against LGR, the 2βs held their nerve to win by 4-wickets in a tight chase. Bowling first, Rashid produced a quality display of leg spin to take 5/20 whilst Hawkins and A Piper both picked up 2 wickets to bowl their hosts out for 117. The run chase was looking in trouble at 54-5 before Hawkins and Lance came together for a match defining 56-run partnership. Hawkins went on to carry his bat with 37 not out as the runs were knocked off and 30-points secured in the 26th over.
The 3βs fell to their first defeat of the season away at Audley Wenden. Batting first, runs were hard to come by as they struggled to put together significant partnerships, being bowled out for 182. This was always going to be tough to defend on a good wicket and so it proved as the hosts knocked off the runs for the loss of just 3-wickets. Going into the last two weeks of the season the 3βs need just 1-point to secure promotion and 23 points to win the title.
