Teaching hatha, pre and postnatal yoga, Pilates, and [email protected]
I started teaching yoga in 1994 after studying at the Integral Yoga Institute and continued doing so throughout my career as a clinical social worker. Teaching at Manhattan establishments such as Equinox and New York Sports Club, as well as the Integral Yoga Institute was a refreshing foil to therapeutic work I did as a social worker. Yoga was always my way of keeping my head and body healthy and
balanced while dealing with the demands of a life and career in New York. Since moving to London in 2009, and taking a break to focus on my two young children, I began teaching prenatal and Hatha yoga .I stay true to the Hatha that I learned as a trainee, which is the form of yoga endorsed by Dr. Dean Ornish’s program to reverse heart disease. In addition to leading general classes, I offer a specialty of prenatal yoga and Mummy-and-me yoga and believe that support for women in pregnancy and the early days of motherhood creates benefits for babies that can last a lifetime. In 2011 I completed Triyoga’s Pregnancy Teacher Training, and in 2013 I completed Hypnobirthing Training with Katharine Graves and have since started teaching Hypnobirthing. My classes draw upon the depth and variety of my professional experience and use mindfulness as a guide to strengthen and invigorate students physically and emotionally.
