I will miss this dear ship Yoga On The Lane 🧡

I’ve sincerely adored teaching at this beautiful studio. Now the time to change gears has come, and last night was my final class on the schedule.

I’m so grateful to the whole team here for their warmth and support, and every person I’ve shared pregnancy yoga with here. Wednesday evenings here have a been an important part of my growth and development as a teacher over the past couple of years.

I can’t think of a time when opening up space for new things to grow hasn’t paid off, when it feels like right to.
The back to school vibes are building, and I’m excited for everyone’s next steps.

September dates are up for my 5-week Baby Massage course. It’s held in small groups at my home near Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, E17. There are 3 sessions to choose from: Tuesday 1.15pm, Wednesday 11.30am and Wednesday 1pm.

I would love you and your baby / babies to join us on this beautiful journey. 5 weeks is such a capsule in little ones lives. We’re at week 4 of the current course and it’s always now that I see how much the group has grown into themselves with babes so much more engaged, involved and also bigger than they were a few short weeks ago.

Touch and baby massage are incredible ways to co-regulate you and your baby’s nervous systems, soothing and giving you both a gorgeous oxytocin boost. Massaging your baby builds confidence, and gives you precious time together for connection and fun.

It’s hugely effective at helping babies feel more comfortable in their body - easing their transition into the world in the early months, supporting their developing digestive system and increasing muscle tone.

Over the weeks, we will gently explore touch and different holds, building up to giving a full body massage. The course aims to give you the skills and confidence to do a little or a lot, and incorporate massaging your baby into your lives in your own way.

Some much needed stretches for parents, along with tea, home bakes and chats. There’s a lot worse places to get nap trapped, but usually the really good naps happen afterwards.

The course is suitable for babies 4+ weeks up to active crawling, although of course massage doesn’t need to end there.

Ask me a questions anytime, and book online when you’re ready on my site (link in my bio).

I’m really enjoying running two postnatal classes per week locally in Walthamstow. I love the variety in who is able to make the different days. Starting the week together, and then bringing the Friday vibes and looking forward to the weekend.

The Monday-Friday stint can be a funny one on maternity leave. Perhaps long stints with a partner out at work, and the day defined by how the night before went. Sometimes all plans changing accordingly to your energy levels, what’s going on with babe or whether you just both need a snuggle day.

For the next few weeks until the summer holidays I will continue to run two postnatal classes at Trinity church in E17 each week.

After 17th July, Fridays will take a pause for the summer break and resume in early September.

Mondays 11-12 will continue throughout summer (apart from 1st week of August when we’re away).

Check the calendar on my website for the most up to date class schedule.

You’re welcome to either book ahead or drop in if you’re seeing how the day goes, I know how things can change course.

In general, postnatal yoga is suitable from ~6 weeks postpartum for vaginal birth and 8-12 weeks following abdominal birth. A lot of that is individual, and you’re welcome to get in touch if you’d like to discuss feeling ready.

Babes can be awake, asleep, in a carrier or elsewhere with another carer. Pushchairs are welcome.

Please also get in touch for a low income ticket price if the standard one is difficult.

Pregnancy Day Retreat
Sunday 27th September
10.30am-4.30pm in Walthamstow
£95 pp including lunch, drinks & snacks

A day to be looked after and held by mothers on your pregnancy journey. Immerse yourself in connecting with your baby and nourishing your body, mind and spirit in a small group, hosted by us, experienced birth workers and space holders Sian and Veronika. We have created this day to help you feel grounded, relaxed and confident as you approach birth, your 4th trimester and new motherhood.

Veronika and I have been running embodied birth workshops for two years and have dreamt of supporting pregnant women like this for an incredibly memorable day. We have been consistently asked to run a postpartum-focussed session, and have made preparing for postpartum a key part of this special day.

An outline of the day:

Morning - Opening circle, Pregnancy yoga to land in and awaken your body, Birth preparation session relevant for all types of birth.

Lunch - Delicious, healthy lunch together (vegetarian, and all dietary requirements can be catered for), with snacks and drinks available all day.

Afternoon - Explore how to set yourself up for a positive postpartum and prepare for the best start to motherhood: resourced, knowledgeable and surrounded by a village. Everyone will create a personal postpartum plan to take home.

Closing session - Sound bath and relaxation to support deep rest and help you integrate the day in a beautiful, gentle way and honour your own pregnancy experience.

Suitable from 12 weeks of pregnancy onwards. No yoga experience necessary.

How are you holding up this week?

Go slow, stay hydrated, and cancel whatever plans you need to to keep yourself and your loved ones safe in the extreme heat this week.

July’s sound bath will be the last one this summer on Monday 13th July 12.45-2pm in Walthamstow Village.

It’s a total reset for your nervous system, and a chance to relax your body in supported, floor-based restorative yoga poses. Breathe easier, and rest your mind.

Everyone is welcome, included babes in arms and toddlers. It’s not silent, but it is soothing. Little ones find the sound absolutely fascinating giving parents the chance to drop in to their bodies and the waves of healing sounds.

It’s 50% booked at the moment, and you can get a ticket from my site.
