We often think of leadership as something that always comes with a title, a position, or a seat at the table.

But we mothers and mother-figures have been leading in ways we don’t always name.

In the way we nurture.
In the way we make decisions.
In the way we hold things together.
In the way we create safety, guide others, solve problems, and keep moving even when no one is watching.

Mothering is leadership.

And maybe the shift isn’t about becoming a leader.

Maybe it’s about recognising that you already are.

October is Black History Month in the UK. And this month, we are going somewhere that Black women's spaces rarely go.

We are talking about money.

Not in an advice column way. Not in a hustle culture way. In the way that gets honest about what money means to us, where our relationship with it was shaped, and what it would feel like to be truly free.

For us, financial peace is not just personal; it is resistance. It is legacy. It is the thing our grandmothers fought toward and some of us are still fighting for.

Let’s openly explore together:

1️⃣ What is your relationship with money - and where did that relationship come from?

2️⃣ What does financial peace look like for you, and what is currently standing between you and it?

3️⃣ What is one step, however small, you could take this month toward greater financial freedom?

Hello, old friends and new 💖

Some of you have been here since this page was Embrace Yourself Coaching,
and you knew me as Angela Mills.

A lot has changed.

Six years ago, I came home to Ghana, my country of origin.

Along the way, I came home to my name too:
Naa Amerley Asante-Armar.

And my work has grown into something bigger than me: Power to our Mothers.

The heart of it hasn't changed.

I still believe in embracing who you truly are.

What I've learned is that so much of who we are is the leadership we practise every day without anyone naming it.

The patience.
The intuition.
The holding it all together.

Nurturing is leadership.

So this page is where I'll share reflections on that leadership, news of my talks and gatherings, and a space to recognise yourself in it.

This month, I'm back on the Wisdom Wednesday stage with Ambitious Ladies of London, talking about the leadership you've already shown that has gone unnamed.

What matters the most to you?
Is that what you are focused on? 🎯
If not, what's getting in the way of that?
We don't get time back. ⏰
Sometimes, we get so bogged down with the things we think we really need to do to survive that we leave no room to do the things that will help us thrive...😳
As a mother, that is so easily done.

The thing is, our children learn far more from what we do than what we say.

So, whilst you are busy encouraging them to be fearless and to follow their dreams, are you doing the same? 🤔
