Ustrasana or camel pose 🐪 is not only a powerful back bend, it’s considered to be a real healing heart opener ❤️🧘♀️
I have a very unique relationship with the pose & have found it to be so powerful that I chose it as my peak pose in my YTT vinyasa exam earlier this year 🇮🇳
I first got into yoga when I was recovering from a pr*****ed disc. I’d taken a bad fall when I was practising my sword 🗡 fighting exam at drama school. For months I could barely walk, let alone touch my toes or even attempt camel pose. Sciatica effected the whole right side of my body. My osteopath recommended yoga 🧘♀️ to help with my recovery
Roll on a few years & I found myself in a bikram class with a friend. Wow my body really loved that heat 🔥
When we were coming out of camel I found myself having what I can only really describe as a light 💡 bulb moment. I remember it now as clear as it happening to me an hour ago. It was like a voice (not mine) spoke loud & clear to me saying “ you’re in the wrong relationship” WHAT!!
Yes I know this sounds a little woo woo. At the time I remember feeling a little freaked out but knew the voice & the wisdom I’d received was right
I’d been in a relationship for some time, seemingly happy yet somehow I knew it had reached it’s end. It was time to let go & begin my own personal growth
That experience in yoga 🧘♀️ reaffirmed something that my subconscious knew but my conscious self didn’t want to admit
Do I really think someone spoke to me?
For years my mind had been full of clutter, always living in the future yet not fully letting go of hurts from the past. In Indian philosophy they consider the cause of anxiety to be worrying about the future & depression holding on to the past
I believe that yoga 🧘♀️ class had given me the very rare opportunity to be truly present & in the here & now. So very rare in our lives. It was by being in the moment that I could see things as they truly were
Anytime you are able to do this it is a gift 💝 whether you find this through yoga, exercise, meditation or sound healings etc
It offers the opportunity to see your truth
❤️ Lots of love KK ❤️

Are We All OK? 👍👎
Swipe left ➡️ to take your position at the OK CORRAL 🤠
The OK corral is inspired by the work of Eric Berne a psychotherapist who roughly picked up where Sigmund Freud left off.
The quadrant considers the 4 life positions we take in relation to other people. Berne believed that by the time we reach our late teens we assume one of these positions. Consider it to be your default, though that doesn’t mean it can’t be changed.
I’m OK, You’re OK is the healthy adult ego state. This one comes from a place of self esteem. We accept others as different but equal. Our approach is respectful of others values, thoughts, feelings & behaviours.
I’m OK, You’re Not OK. I’m better than you😌False esteem lives here. It’s when we need to be adored & placed on a pedestal. Ironically our society has some pretty sneaky ways of promoting this one to us, via advertising & disguising it in ego led inspirational quotes. Like winning at all costs, or killing them with kindness ( really you’re that kind you’re going to kill me) or taking the higher ground.
I’m not OK, You Are OK. Aghh the shame 💩 storm & coming from a place of no self esteem. This is when we feel super small & want the world to swallow us up. We lack confidence to share our thoughts & feelings.
I’m Not OK, You Are Not OK 🤯 we are both worthless human beings. This is considered to be the hopeless 😩 position for obvious reasons.
I recognise that with certain people at times I’ve assumed all these positions. Particularly at times of conflict. Self growth & becoming emotionally intelligent is a journey of self awareness. With everything knowledge is power. It’s when we know these things we can take that personal inventory & see where we’re really coming from. It grows real self esteem & emotional intelligence.
🙏❤️🙏
We always have that choice to change the position.
I AM ALWAYS OK 👌🏻 & SO ARE YOU ALWAYS OK 👌🏻

Tales Of Resilience 💪 💖 📖
Inside each & everyone of us, there is a story of resilience. Times where we’ve been courageous, faced obstacles no matter how big or small & triumphed over adversity.
In these sessions I’ll be combining two of my many passions. That of understanding what makes us resilient with storytelling ( yes really, one of the many things I do is coach people in storytelling )
Hearing other people’s stories & experiences is the best way to form connection. It allows us to empathise, learn & be inspired. It is also great catharsis. Our brain 🧠 loves stories, in particular the amygdala where emotion, memory & meaning meet.
I’m choosing some wonderful & brave people to share their experiences. Telling us how it really was or is for them & what they’ve learnt. These are not tales of having super powers but just of being human & real.
In chapter 1 shared his experiences with alcohol & deciding to live the Thank you Darren for your honesty 🙏❤️
In chapter 2 you’ll be meeting one of the most inspiring, kindest & bonkers people I know
Marlisa’s story is about grief following her beloved fathers death. Marlisa will share how grief truly feels, the various stages & acceptance. We’ll also be chatting about happy memories & remembering people to keep them alive in our hearts ❤️
As Maya Angelou said “ There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you”
We’ll be going live 1pm BST 🇬🇧& 2pm SAST 🇿🇦 Monday 4 May
See you there 🙏❤️📖
