Greenwich Yacht Club
Greenwich Yacht Club is a members’ club and RYA training centre for cruiser/motor/dinghy/keelboat sailors & rowers!
If you are interested in joining our club, you're welcome to join us on a Tuesday night from 7pm to discover more. Greenwich Yacht Club is a self-help club run by volunteers, which keeps the membership fees low. You do not need to own a boat to become a member, but should be active in water based activities. We expect all members to share duties and help with the running and maintenance of the club.

Lionel Willis did an interview for the Thames Festival Trust in 2017. It was about boatyards on the Thames and Greenwich Yacht Club features on it a lot. Fascinating recollection of times gone by but fascinating to listen to it. Hope you can make some time to listen, I highly recommend it.

Greenwich Yacht Club’s third annual fundraising yacht race for the benefit of the RNLI lifeboat charity is on Sunday May 10.
The money we raise will go directly to the RNLI's Tower Lifeboat Station, which is based near Waterloo Bridge. It covers the River Thames from Battersea to Woolwich, and is the busiest lifeboat station in the country. Yet it still relies on public donations to meet its running costs.
The race will be from our clubhouse in Greenwich to Erith, and back. Members of other sailing clubs on the River Thames are welcome to enter, at bit.ly/RNLI_RACE_ENTRY_2026
After the winners are presented with their trophies by the Mayor of Greenwich, there will be a raffle. We would like to thank all our members and businesses that have generously donated prizes, a full list is at bit.ly/RNLI_Race_Prizes
