Hi all, and hoping you are well!
As the situation intensifies, it’s even more important to practise self care, and look after our mind and body.
Many of you have asked me for some Pilates exercises to do at home. I really recommend taking a few mins a day, or slightly longer a few times a week to do the exercises I will be posting on here. You’ll all be very familiar with them, as we do these popular classic ones in most classes!
Take a few mins to do a gentle warmup of neck and arm rolls, spinal twist, some squats and Downward Dog. Then continue to these...
1) Roll down - stand tall, breathe out as you let shoulders roll forward, arms relaxed as you curl down as far as you can. Breathe out as you slowly roll up, pulling in your navel all the way. Do 3 - 5 rolls.
2) Spine flexibility - lie on your front with hands to side..level with top of your head. Slowly lift head and shoulders, then curl spine up..extending arms to be totally straight. Then slowly curl spine back down onto mat. Breathe out on every roll up and down. Do at least 10
3) ‘Toe dipping’ - lie on back in table top position. Lower 1 bent leg from the hip at a time, tap on floor and return. Breathe out as you tap, breathe in to return leg to table top. The further you tap away from buttock, the harder the level. Do 10 pairs. Check spine remains in neutral!
4) Shoulder bridge - lie on back, legs bent, knees in line with hips. Slowly curl spine off floor, starting with buttocks until you're resting on shoulders. Slowly curl spine back down again. Breathe out on every roll up and down. Do 5 rolls.
(You can also bring arms in air towards ceiling before you roll down.)
5) Arm circles - start with legs in table top. Bring arms above head to touch floor, then round in a circle skimming the floor. Breathe in as arms go up, breathe out as they circle round. Reverse direction. 5 each way.
Start doing these 5 exercises as much as you can. I’ll be posting more exercises soon, including The Hundred!
Stay healthy and positive!

Hello everyone, most of you are aware classes have sadly had to be cancelled for now. However, I will be posting exercises to do at home on this page. Most of you know the basics by heart already 😃 and will easily be able to do them from the comfort of your home. So take time a few days a week (or everyday!) to stretch and do some relaxing stress busting exercises to keep your mind and body healthy. Try to get out walking in fresh air and nature, and enjoy spending more time with loved ones. Stay healthy and positive! Sending you love 😘 xx
