Need to move? 🧘‍♀️ Join me on Zoom this evening at 18.30 for a gentle and cooling practice. For all levels. Text privately for Zoom link.

A vital component of asana is the breath, and how we can use breathing to release stress and to strengthen our body and our resolve.

We have the power to work with our breath to:✨Reset ✨Rebalance and ✨ Renew our body’s systems.

Prāṇāyāma means the expansion or extension (āyāma) of the breath (prāṇa).

This experience is embodied, and we get to self regulate its beneficial effects from within.

Newcomers welcome✨

Greetings from my yoga deck in the heart of the great outdoors of Cornwall this week. ✨

All Classes resume back in the London studio and online next week Aug 18. ✨

My home, with this splendid view, is also my yoga studio and Zoom room this week. Taking a daily moment to reset, especially in this crazy world, is a no brainer, right? Yoga was designed as a self practice, a way to connect to yourself, in both body and mind.
It can be challenging to practise yoga from home, whether that’s self practice or joining a Zoom class. It’s totally understandable. Sometimes it’s simply not an option logistically, but many other times the biggest obstacle is the mind. It takes intention to use one space for a different function.
A small adjustment is needed and that includes your mindset as much as moving any furniture.

Maxine’s London classes are online and in person.
Suitable for all levels
Tuesdays 18:30 to 19:45
Wednesdays 9:30 to 10:45 (UK time)

Bring in the sun ☀️

We are all solar beings. We have a solar plexus for a reason — when we recharge, we feel energised. Let the light flow in and notice how your mood and energy can shift.

This photo is from the Home Studio after my self-practice this morning 🌿
I hope it’s as sunny and fresh where you are 🙏🌏

Nothing flourishes without the right nutrition and living conditions, humans included. Have you noticed that you are the same?
Spending quality “you time” on your mat — moving, breathing and letting go of what you don’t need with conscious awareness and intention — shows you time and again how yoga brings together all the elements you can directly access from within to support your return to total wellbeing.

Yoga is an ‘inside job’. It is a lived experience.
You may not be able to control everything around you, but you can learn to self-regulate and gently recondition your internal environment, helping you return to a healthier, more balanced ‘you’.

What a revelation that a simple 75 minutes on your mat in class together can change how you live :)
After all, what are your living conditions, if they are not in essence, a physical expression of how you inhabit your body😊

🧘Join Tuesdays at 18:30 and Wednesdays at 9:30 & 11.15 London time for a total reboot and recharge.

🇮🇳 Greetings from the ashram. This is a (not-so-great) selfie I took this morning with my teacher of 25 years, and Head of the Kaivalyadhama Institute (Kdham.com), Sri O. P. Tiwari.
His teacher was Mahatma Gandhi’s teacher. Yes, really.
It’s deeply inspiring to be here, and to dedicate time to immersing myself in practice.
Kaivalyadhama is a hugely important centre for India and internationally, with ongoing research into the scientific and therapeutic benefits of yoga, as well as its philosophical roots and original sources.

🇮🇳 It’s very nourishing for mind body and spirit to be here 💫

🙏I hope you’ll join me this evening online, 18:30–19:45 for a regenerating reset to balance mind body and breath.
