Captain’s Charity Day ⛳

Our members and guests had a fantastic day yesterday as we raised nearly £8,000 for 🙌

Huge thanks goes to the bar and catering team for their hard work, as well as our greenkeepers, office staff and those who volunteered on the day, donated prizes, bid in the auction, and bought raffle tickets.

One to take note of for Lime bike users on the common 🚲

Lime Bikes Go Slow on the Commons!

If you’re riding a Lime bike on the Commons and it suddenly loses power, it's not faulty - you've entered a new Lime-designated low speed zone.

This is a safety measure to protect all users of the Commons – cyclists, walkers, dogs etc.

 Please do not just dump the bike on the Commons as our keepers have to move them off. 

Also, please remember:

*Only cycle on designated shared use pedestrian/cycle routes

* Always give way to pedestrians and horses - and slow down around them

Today we celebrate a truly special milestone as our Club President, Brian Cox , turns 90! 🥳⛳

Over the weekend, a number of members came together to celebrate Brian's landmark birthday and mark the occasion with him.

On behalf of everyone at Wimbledon Common Golf Club, we wish Brian a very happy 90th birthday.

A huge congratulations to everyone who represented Wimbledon Common Golf Club in this year's Triangular Trophy - we're delighted to have brought the trophy home! 👏⛳

What a fantastic day it was yesterday for our annual Club Championships. With glorious sunshine throughout the day, the course was in great condition and it was wonderful to see so many members taking part and supporting the event.

Congratulations to Jill, John, Jez and Martin who will represent Wimbledon Common Golf Club at the prestigious Royal Wimbledon Putting Competition on 18 June ⛳️👏

A fantastic turnout for yesterday's qualifying event, with plenty of competitive putting on display as members battled it out for a place in the team.

Captains' Charity ❤️

For 2026 - 2027, our Captains, Andrea Talbot-West and Andrew Copeman have chosen to support Alzheimer's Research UK.

Across the course of the next 12 months, we'll be raising money through various events such as our Captains' Charity Day.

Unless we act now, one in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime. Almost 1 million people are living with dementia today, tragically not one of them will survive. Just £20 will fund one hour of groundbreaking research, helping us to get closer to a cure.
