Atelier Fiks

This set of bags was made for Mimi’s new off-road bike.

The size L frame allowed for a big volume frame bag (approx. 13 L) which tapers from 5,5 cm width at the top (reducing knee rub) to 9cm close to the crank. The same is true for the custom designed toptube bag (approx. 1,3L): wide to the front/bottom, skinnier to the back/top. This frame was well equipped to go for partial bolt-on mounting of these bags.

Together with a matching stembags and a seamtaped rackbag, fitting his , this set would provide enough volume for a light and fast trip. Combined with a handlebar bag or some small panniers one gets a well balanced off-road touring setup.

Made of waterproof and highly water resistant zippers, these bags can handle crappy weather too.

Kudos to for sharing detailed drawings of the frame. This really helps developing accurate patterns. ❤️

We got the pleasure to make this bag for Max & Gabby who are riding their bikes between France & NZ! Inside the top compartment they store their camera and snacks for quick access. On the bottom they put heavy stuff like spares and bike tools.

Liesbeth’s children were looking for a unique present for their mom’s birthday: a convenient way to carry snacks, phone, sunglasses and wallet when on the bicycle.

Because every bike has some unused space they chose for a small, custom made frame bag. 👾

Made out of waterproof Xpac VX21 and equipped with a weather resistant zipper, the content stays well protected when the weather turns. ☔️

In the beautiful Aladaglar mountains, winter is at the doorstep and we sneak out by bus to Antalya looking for some warmer weather next to the sea. 🌞

We follow the coastline to Fethiye and attempt to ride some sections of the Lycian Way. This rugged & rocky hiking trail proves to be very difficult for mountain bike travel and several times we have to apply .and.bikes philosophy, resulting in a boat taxi ride at one point… 🙃

Two brothers, two bikes, matching bags and a big objective - racing across the Pyrenees.

Just like the bikes, the bags are a mix of “old” & “new”. The organic cotton X-pac brings the classic look but when looking closely this fabric is very technical and was seam taped where real waterproofness was needed. Color highlights are RX30, which is produced CO2 neutral and has a 100% recycled shell fabric.

ATELIER F!KS is inspired by the Flemish word ‘fiks’ and Jozua’s grandfather’s signature ‘i’.

What ‘fiks’ stands for:
> fiks: to describe something as strong or powerful.
> fik·sen: to repair or to pull something off.
> fixe·ren: to fasten something securely in a particular place or position.
