Introducing the first in our series of Strength Technique Workshops!

Taught by
Join us for this 90 minute strength technique workshop, focussing on the squat and the press. We will look at suitable warm up techniques, various squat and pressing (overhead and chest) setups, and the benefits/challenges that each of these variations provide. This will be a workshop with a short workout at the end - so the bulk of the session will be on learning techniques that can be taken into your own workouts or classes, with the option to bring it all together at the end for a short, group workout.
The workshop will be taught by Georgia, a strength and movement coach with over ten years teaching experience. This workshop is the first in a series of 6 Saturday workshops, each focussing on 2 of the fundamental strength training movements - the squat, press, deadlift, pull, lunge, and carry.

We won't make you vom in the bin.
All too often, our clients come to us with a tail of a disgusting beasting session with a PT way back when, and a very wary approach to all things fitness as a result.
At Move Strong London, we embrace hard work and effort. But we will never push you to the point of pain, injury, or vomming 😉🤢
Training doesn't need to mean punishment.
Effectiveness isn't always measured in sweat.
You shouldn't be unable to move the next day, or be 'paying' for your workout for days to come.
Exercise should be a positive experience that leaves you tired but exhilarated and with something left in the tank to enjoy the rest of your day.

Technique Tuesday: the Deadlift.
The deadlift is one of the fundamental movement patterns found in strength training. It's great for strengthening the muscles in the back of the body as well as training the core to stabilise the spine - not to mention that being able to safely pick a weight up off the floor is a fundamental skill for every day life!
The deadlift will look different on everyone due to different body types and limb lengths. A key technique foe the deadlift is the hinge movement pattern at the hips - something that can be practiced using body weight and different positions/set ups. Once this is established you can progress to weighted deadlifts. Remember - it is just as beneficial to fine tune your movement pattern as it is to pick up heavy loads!
