Some of you have asked for more detail on why we couldn’t repair our rudder, so here is a short recap.

The good ship Monkey Fist is still in the water but we remain hopeful that today is the day we can lift her out.

If everyone can keep their fingers and toes crossed it would be appreciated. 🤞🏼

After 94 days of leaving Australia, we are now working on a plan to lift Monkey Fist out the water. We also need to clean off the 2 inches of b***y* crap, get her nicely tucked up in a shipping container and on her way safely home.

*B***y is a type of sea bird and Monkey Fist was home to many of these having a right old party when we located her at sea.

After 3,400 miles of hard rowing we have only managed to raise £2.20 per mile rowed… 6 years of planning. 65 days at sea. Hundreds of people helping in the background. And two AMAZING charities that need our support. .

Operation boat rescue 🤞🏼
Apologies for the social silence. We wanted to have a concrete plan before we announced anything.

We have been tracking Monkey Fist as the wind and currents have been pushing her ever onwards towards Kenya.

We always knew the best chance of getting her back was Billy going out when she was closer to the Kenyan coastline. Thanks for the wonderful Simon Rowell, Billy came out to Kenya 4 days ago to try and charter a boat capable of going out 150 miles to intercept her and tow her 150 miles safely back to Mombasa.

Thanks to all the incredible support from friends old and new, we can confirm that Billy is on route now having sourced such a service.

Keep your fingers and toes crossed. The next 48hrs at sea are critical.
