Meet two of our Royal Parks Half Marathon runners! 🏃‍♀️ 💜

This Sunday, friends Laura and Sara will be taking on their first ever half marathon - running for The Bike Project!

For Laura, it’s a cause that feels close to home: “I’m a big cycling fan and love the freedom it gives me, and love a cause that gives a sense of that love and independence to those seeking asylum.”

We’re so excited to cheer them on as they take on 13.1 miles for refugees and people seeking asylum. 👏

Good luck, Laura and Sara! You’ve got this!

A huge thank you to the .colours team for coming back to support us for a second year! 🚲

This time, they joined a donation session, helping 17 people get geared up and matched with a bike. Together with their generous financial support, Universal Colours has helped us provide bikes to over 65 refugees and people seeking asylum. 💚

We’ve loved having you back and seeing your support in action, making sure our bike recipients were well taken care of. Thank you! 🙌

During the August heatwave, our Bike Buddies took to Cycleway 27 to show our riders just how brilliant London’s cycle highways are. ☀️

Starting in Ealing, they cycled from West to East, passing a gin palace, a Victorian prison, historic archways, and an old airfield- they even managed to pick up some fresh blackberries. 🫐

Arriving in beautiful, historic Walthamstow Village, we explored the rare Victorian Penfold Pillar postbox and the massive GPO stone column outside the Vestry House Museum, before heading down to the striking Waltham Forest Town Hall.

Our Bike Buddies finished the epic journey at a lovely sunny market in the gardens of the William Morris Gallery. Navigating across the capital can seem daunting, but these routes make active travel accessible, safe, and deeply rewarding. 💚

We’re lost for words… Our London to Brighton riders were absolutely incredible. Almost everyone finished in under 4.5 hours, and the energy at that finish line was unreal! 🔥

Honestly, the dedication from everyone for this ride- from Lily overcoming a last-minute bike breakdown, to Vinay returning for a second year and completely smashing his previous time - nothing was going to stop them.

And Ditchling Beacon’s 248m climb? Made to look easy. ⛰️💪

They did it all to support refugees and people seeking asylum, while working hard to hit their fundraising targets too. Huge thank you to every single one of you. What a ride! 💛

Want to support them? You can still donate to their pledges via this link: https://tbpfundraise.raiselysite.com/t/team-london-to-brighton-2026 🚲

And a huge thank you to for being such amazing hosts. 🙌

🚲 Meet Lily, one of our brilliant bike mechanics, refurbishing donated bikes into reliable rides for refugees and people seeking asylum – and tomorrow, they’ll be swapping a spanner for the handlebars!

Lily is taking on 55 miles from London to Brighton to raise £1,000 for The Bike Project and says, “a bike can have a huge positive impact on someone’s life.” 💛

Already doing incredible work helping make that impact happen, they’re now going the extra mile to help get even more bikes to refugees and people seeking asylum.

You can help Lily reach the £1,000 target – every donation makes a difference. Donate via this link: https://tbpfundraise.raiselysite.com/team-london-to-brighton-2026 🔗

From all of us at The Bike Project, GOOD LUCK AND THANK YOU to all our riders!!! We’ll see you in Brighton! 🌟

The UK government needs to stop the targeting, violence and intimidation towards refugees and people seeking asylum. Action is needed to end the hatred. Scenes like this weekend cannot be repeated.

Racist violence has no place in our communities.

We are one of 150+ organisations calling for the UK government to listen, act urgently and bring an end to this hostility.

Let's all stand together in support of refugees and people seeking asylum. 💜

Meet Henry, taking on London to Brighton for The Bike Project, with Holly helping him smash his fundraising target! 💛

“The past few years have been tough for everyone, but none more so than for refugees.”

Together, Henry and Holly are supporting people as they build a new life - and the work The Bike Project does “really helps ease the burden refugees face”.

Every mile Henry rides will help raise vital funds to get more bikes to refugees and people seeking asylum. 🌟

💚 Another successful donation session!

Thanks to everyone who continues to donate their unwanted bikes. Your donations make sessions like this possible and help more people get riding.

At a recent session, Zamir found his perfect match: a Giant Rock that fits him perfectly and will open up so many opportunities. 🙌

A big thank you to the person who donated this bike - it’s now got a new rider and plenty more miles ahead. 🚲

It’s also a great example of why quality bike donations matter. Bikes that are in good condition, rust-free and have working parts take less time to repair, helping us get more bikes ready for their new riders.

Got an unwanted bike in good condition? Donate it at a drop-off point near you via the link below and help someone get moving.

Meet Mark and Hossein, two Bike Buddies who recently headed out for a ride through South East London. 🙌

Mark has been a Bike Buddy for a few years, and this time he showed Hossein a new side of London. They rode through Crystal Palace, explored some of the area’s parks and enjoyed discovering somewhere new together.

Sometimes, it’s not just about having a bike. It’s about having someone to ride with. 💚

It’s thanks to you that rides like this are possible- your support helps create more opportunities for people to get out, explore, connect and enjoy the city on two wheels.

So, a big thank you to Mark for being such a brilliant Bike Buddy, and to everyone who supports our work. 🚲
