I see lots of high-achieving professionals delay career transitions for reasons that initially don’t look obvious at all.
Most often they think they’re “being responsible.”
Doing more research.
Thinking things through.
Wanting to make the right decision.
And just to be clear, thoughtful and responsible decisions are a strength.
But the brain can turn clarity into a prerequisite for action without you fully realising it.
This creates a subtle (and exhausting) loop:
You busy yourself waiting for clarity →
But clarity shows up after movement begins.
The reality is taking action gives your brain real information that thinking alone can’t.
This is one of the psychological blindspots I see most often when people are navigating career transitions.
Not their lack of ambition or even options.
Just a thinking pattern that keeps everything in evaluation mode longer than necessary.
⚡ I built a short quiz to help you identify the psychological blindspot shaping your current career phase.
It shows you:
• the transition phase you’re in
• the blindspot delaying momentum
• and the practical shift that unlocks momentum

You don’t need a new year’s resolution to make your move but you already know something needs to shift in 2026 🚀
You’re done waiting for another week to pass when work will finally feel exciting or meaningful again.
Your next move isn’t defined by your CV. It’s with THIS framework so your big 2026 move feels intentional, not reactive. 👇🏼
1. Clarify the REAL dissatisfaction
Not the typical complaints we all have like “The commute is too long” or “My boss is a moron”. It’s the internal tug you feel when you’re in meetings thinking, “I’m capable of so much more than this”.
Do you ever find yourself looking at your team and thinking everyone else seems perfectly fine with mediocrity and you’re the only one thinking this is BS?
2. Identify the work you want to be RECOGNISED for. (Not just paid for!).
This is the work people already come to you for, like the unofficial mentor role you’ve naturally adopted for your junior colleagues or leading an internal project that conveniently aligned with the company’s value mission.
This is your breadcrumb trail.
3. Map the bridge between where you are & the role you want
This is usually smaller than you think. It’s building on who you already are - not about reinventing yourself.
Remember, your past experience isn’t for nothing - it’s existing infrastructure and absolutely priceless! (Cont. in comments 👇🏼)

For some reason I felt too shy to post about this last year but exactly a year to the day I finally feel proud to share this pic. 👩🎓
Maybe I felt too vulnerable about making it public that I went back to study for a whole new career. But if this past year has taught me anything it’s that nothing but good things come when you get out of your comfort zone.
Turns out betting on yourself and trusting that the path is already yours can feel pretty amazing. It’s also made me endlessly inspired by others who are brave enough to do things on their terms.
So if you’re considering (or hesitant about) taking any action towards your future, remember - the perfect time is now. Trust me, I’m a Positive Psychologist MSC baby! 😉
