Autumn is in full-swing & illume pilates is back in full-swing of classes 🍂

For those new to illume pilates and somehow coming across this post, here is a little about us...

We are based in South London. "We" are made up of Angela Gasparetto, founder & teacher of illume pilates and Margo Howie, illume pilates associate teacher.

illume pilates started off in Nunhead in 2013, where Angela taught classes in the function room of the Old Nun's Head pub for a few years. The class then moved to Buchan Tenants' Hall around the corner from Nunhead Station where it still runs today on Wednesday eves.

Covid lock-downs brought illume pilates to Zoom where a Saturday morning class continues AND a monthly movement & relaxation class runs too.

Our classes are open-level, community-focused & fun 🥳 (well, we think they are fun!) We genuinely love Pilates and love to help people know their bodies more, help people be stronger, and therefore, help people live their daily lives better!

🌻 illume pilates newsletter - summer 2024 🌻 I can’t believe it is almost the middle of August - the summer has flown by, and yet at the same time it also feels the most ‘spacious’ summer I have had in awhile - a strange experience of time.

Margo, associate illume pilates teacher, and I had a wonderful team meeting this afternoon - our mighty team of two! Part of our meeting was reflecting upon what we have achieved so far as illume pilates & Pilates teachers in 2024. At the top of the list was the fact we have welcomed a number of new students into our small but mighty community, along with having other students that have been coming to classes with illume pilates in Nunhead for over 10 years and all of the wonderful the folks in between - and that feels pretty awesome ☺️

At the heart of illume pilates is our desire to is to help people move & feel better in their bodies; connected to this is a strong belief in fostering a supportive & kind community to practice Pilates together in. We appreciate when people choose to spend their time & money to come to one of our classes and become part of our community, whether briefly or for longer hauls (Hannah & Naomi, I am thinking about you!).

All this to say, thank you to all who have been/are part of the illume pilates community 🙏
