Muhammad Ali knocked out George Foreman in eight rounds and won back the heavyweight title in Zaire in 1974 to cap one of the great accomplishments ever in all sports.

It came 10 years after Ali first won the crown by knocking out Sonny Liston.

"I told you, all of my critics, I told you all, that I was the greatest of all times when I beat Sonny Liston. I told you today, I'm still the greatest of all times," said Ali.

โ€œHe never hurt me. Never. I was hitting on him, he squeezed and turned around and hit me with a combination, a one-two punch," Foreman said. "I braced myself to stop the fall and hit the floor. It was a good shot.โ€

โ€œThat right hand was the fastest punch Iโ€™ve ever been hit with. Never been hit so fast. It was like he was a lightweight. I didnโ€™t even see it coming. I waited, my corner told me to hold it, I jumped up, the fight was over.โ€

"I was the dope,โ€ whispered Foreman.

"Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them. A desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last minute stamina. They have to be a little faster. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill." - Muhammad Aliโฃ
