Support the Maritime Reserve Field Gun team to raise money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity it our fitness challenge on Sunday 26th May.

Each team member will row or ski-erg 7,488m (the distance in nautical miles from Portsmouth to Port Elizabeth) and clean and press a total of 1,300kg with an Olympic plate (that's 15kg-87 times, 20kg-65 times or 25kg-52 times!)

It going to be tough but it'll be worth it to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. RNRMC do fantastic work to support projects and facilities that boost morale for those who serve today, and distribute millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Yesterday morning, our Exec Committee met to discuss how this season had gone and as ever to look at how we keep the high competition standards yet looking to improve where required.

While the work of the Committee is important, that initial meeting was then followed by a wider 'wash-up' with representatives from the Crews. Hearing the voice of the crews is crucial to ensuring that the heartbeat of Field Gun continues to surge far and wide, calling back Field Gunners old and new.
