If you’ve ever coordinated VIP transport for a Lagos wedding party, you’ll know it’s not planning: it’s an extreme sport. 🚗💨

CJ, the Serial Best Man, has colour-coded spreadsheets, backup drivers and military-grade itineraries. Tomorrow’s schedule is a work of art: parents at 07:30, bridal party at 08:15, groomsmen in a coaster bus at 08:45. Everything is locked down.

Except for one tiny, microscopic issue… the car rental company still hasn’t picked up his calls to confirm they’re actually sending the cars. 🫠

Famous last words in Lagos wedding planning: “What could possibly go wrong?”

In a Lagos wedding, secrets rarely wait politely until after the vows. This one walked straight into the bridal-suite corridor, carrying enough emotional tension to turn the flowers wilted. 😬

Bisi, the wedding planner, had seconds to act. Not with shouting, not with judgement, not with the kind of drama that would give the guests a story before the DJ even played the first dance.

She stepped in front of the distressed pregnant woman, clipboard in hand, phone ready, voice calm but firm. Because Bisi knew that behind every scandal is a human being.

Can she mediate between a bride, her groom… and the pregnant side-chick who has arrived at the venue demanding answers without the entire celebration exploding?

Read Memoirs of a Lagos Wedding Planner and discover why Bisi has seen it all… or so she thought.

If you were the bride, would you still go ahead with the wedding? 👇🏾

Writers do not wait until fear disappears. They write while it is sitting beside them.

How to help a young writer finish their first book | Parent Guide - Accomplish Press 25/08/2026

Does your child have notebooks full of brilliant story ideas but struggle to reach “The End”? Finishing a first book takes more than imagination. Young writers also need structure, consistency, encouragement and the confidence to keep going when the initial excitement wears off.

In this article, I share seven practical ways parents can support a child’s writing journey without taking over their story. From choosing a manageable project and creating a simple story plan to setting realistic writing goals, building a routine and navigating the difficult middle, these strategies help children turn exciting ideas into completed work.

I also explore when a young writer might benefit from additional support through a creative writing programme or dedicated writing mentor. The difference between an unfinished story and a completed manuscript isn’t talent, it’s having the right support at the right time.

How beta readers can help your manuscript before you hire an editor - Accomplish Press 21/08/2026

Hello writer! You’ve finally typed “The End” on your manuscript. You’ve read it a few times and done some self-editing. But before you pay a professional editor, there’s one important step your manuscript may need: beta readers.

You’ve read your book so many times you practically know every comma. But that familiarity can make it difficult to spot the places where a reader might become confused, bored or unconvinced.

Good beta readers can help uncover:
• Plot holes you’ve stopped noticing
• Chapters where the pace drags
• Character decisions that don’t quite make sense
• Openings that aren’t hooking readers
• Endings that don’t deliver

But who should you ask? When should they read your manuscript? And what questions will actually produce useful feedback?

My latest blog explains how to use beta readers effectively before investing in professional editing, so you can revise with greater confidence and send your editor a much stronger manuscript.

How beta readers can help your manuscript before you hire an editor - Accomplish Press A beta reader is someone who reads your near-finished manuscript and responds as a reader, not as a professional editor.
