Starting from November 28th we will now be hosting £15 Special Classes at Privé Pilates, to give low income households or students and other women with a tighter budget the opportunity to join a Reformer Pilates class without breaking the bank. At Privé our focus and priority is women’s health & wellbeing and this is the first step as a business to give back to our community. This wouldn’t be possible without our visitors, members and everyone else supporting Privé Pilates. We are praying and hoping that we will continue to use our space to benefit women’s health and wellness and hopefully do charity work in the future.

Consistency is what matters most. Consistently showing up. Consistent practice. Consistently chasing after what you want most. Consistency is not linear, you’ll have up’s and down’s. What matters is continuing even when you don’t feel like it 💪🏼

Things I wish I knew sooner ..
It’s a full-body workout: Pilates is a comprehensive method that strengthens and tones muscles throughout your entire body, not just the core, and improves posture and balance.
It’s more effective than it looks: Despite its calm appearance, the controlled, small movements can lead to major results and is highly effective for strengthening without excessive cardio or weights.
It complements other exercises: Pilates can improve performance in other sports and activities, such as running, swimming, or golf, and can be a great way to build a robust foundation for injury prevention.
It can support pain relief: It is often used for rehabilitation and can help with back pain
Focus on form and feeling: It’s not about how a move looks, but how it feels and which muscles are being used to perform it.
Prioritize consistency over intensity: Short, consistent sessions are more beneficial than infrequent, long workouts.
Modifications are key: Don’t be afraid to modify exercises. Modifications are smart, not a sign of failure, and allow you to build strength and awareness safely.
Breath is essential: Coordinating your breath with movement is fundamental to the practice and helps connect your mind and body.
It is for every body: Pilates is for everyone, regardless of your shape, size, or current fitness level. You don’t need to be super flexible to begin.
You don’t need a certain look: Social media can present a misleading image. You do not need to look a certain way to participate and benefit from Pilates.
