Personal Trainer and Fitness Coach
Online and In Person Personal Training and Classes It’s 5.00pm Wednesday 19th July .. Exercise is for EVERYONE !! blurgh..
and I have just received a message from a PT Client and whom says how amazing she’s feeling and wondering why the hec she didn’t start her fitness journey sooner.. It’s got me thinking of my journey and how I came to have such an amazing opportunity to be in contact with and help such people and be able to teach my favourite things EVER ! Being brought up in the Martial Arts world my etiquette is
respect, discipline, courtesy, trust, empathy, confidence, form strong bonds, help others and be proud but humble. Experience has taught me well, surround yourself with people on the same positive journey as you, these people along with yourself are the dream team, always encouraging, supporting, pushing and proudly acknowledging each other’s achievements. Don’t do unto others you wouldn’t want done to yourself. One of my questions on qualifying as a PT was, why do you want to do this … my answer, I want to meet the women and men that feel that they are not good enough and show them just how strong and beautiful they really are. Whatever their goals be it weight loss, fitness, running a marathon, or just to enjoy themselves I want us to work together, form a bond, make it fun, a project and celebrate their results together…
I would be speaking to a lot of mum’s that would bring their kids to classes and they would seem so down and deflated about weight, time, chores, work, wanting to exercise but feeling conscious .. so the personal training was just a natural progression into wanting to help people realise that they are good enough, they can train, they can do it. I wanted them to gain confidence and know that exercising can actually be fun and made exercise is disguise. They can have support and someone to speak too to get them through the tough days. I have seen even the most timid blossom into confident, stronger, fitter women and we have had lots of laughs and some very emotional results along the way…. and that is why I get up and strive each day. I never realised how precious life was until my dad lost his fight, we were so sooo close - I made a promise to my him that I would carry on doing what I’m doing and never give up, of which he replied I know you will Darlin’ with the most beautiful smile, which has been the hardest thing that I have ever had to do, I felt like quitting which is not an option. How can I quit when I won’t let my ladies/gents even contemplate throwing the towel in, so there we have the flip side of how they also inspire me. Noone is immune to feeling low, unconfident, unsure, we all need a pat on the back, a well done sometimes, sometimes you just need to let your guard down a little to let the right people in. It’s not always the one’s you’ve known the longest who have your back. It takes just one day, one person to cross your path and make an immediate impact and connection to spark a more positive, inspired you. Trust your instincts …
Reflecting on the PT’s I’ve had over the years and the little messages I receive that make it all worthwhile. Helping people realise that exercise is for everyone and never to feel embarrassed to try and hearing how they are feeling and changing for the better, physically and mentally. One example that pops into my mind is a wonderful lady who I met for a few months at Fight Klub at the very beginning of her journey having a target of over 4 stone to lose.. to date that target has been smashed and she did it with her own drive and determination and has now even made her spare room into a cardio suite.. ** that’s where we differ… cardio .. hahaha… She always says that it was because she was made not to feel stupid in class for trying that she chose to carry on. That one tiny aspect changed her thought process. She is one amazing lady !! I will ask her if I may share her journey/results with you in a further post. I have met so many people on my fitness journey whom I class as amazing friends, people I would never have usually crossed paths with, we’re all the same, all have similar goals… spend time with family, keep fit, stay in shape, juggle work, get the chores done, do the shopping and remember to put the kids to bed the right way up at the end of the day…. possibly some social life in there too. So I’m sitting here right now feeling very in awe of where my path has taken me and having met so many wonderful people in the industry that are so good at their game but remain humble. And I am ever thankful to all of you mums, dads, aunts, uncles, daughters, sons, grans and grampies who I have met and had the pleasure to coach. I still have so much to learn and to research and I do so every day. I am truly inspired every day and I thank you for that. ###X
**the original thought process of this post was to say how I came to teach my favourite things, which I get asked on a regular basis.. however i went off on one so that will be the next post .. haha ..
***if you made it this far down the post I admire your persistence ... now so long as you apply that in your training, we're all good 👊💪 x
