Fun run results
One again, well done to all runners in the 1-miler this morning. We've published the results and times of the race on the EP5 website here:
It was wonderful to see so many of you this morning - running both the 5-miler and the children's fun run. Many superb efforts rewarded with excellent times, despite the heat and humidity. Thank you.
Publication of the results is a little delayed, thanks to overheating chip timing devices (yes, really!). Have no fear, all the times are recorded, and we will post the link as soon as we can.
Good morning all.
The race info PDF for the Eltham Park 5 went out yesterday evening, and is also online here:
Well, it's a sellout! Signups for the Eltham Park 5 will close at midnight tonight. We're looking forward to a fantastic and busy event.
We're holding back a small number of places for signups on the day, for those who are unable to do so today.
As ever, the fun run registration is on the day, from about 9am. Even if you're running the 5-miler, try to be there to encourage the youngsters on their 1-miler.
Race info will be going out by email tomorrow. See you on Sunday for a wonderful morning of running.

The Eltham Park 5 and Family Fun Run A superb 5-mile off road race through Eltham's amazing parks and woods.
What's a hill? It depends...
Is the Eltham Park 5 "quite hilly"?
People often ask this about the race. But it depends on what you mean by "hilly". For example, you can get all dramatic: it's a run through the foothills of the Shooter's Hill massif. If you zoom in on a topographic map of the area, you can make it go red, signifying climbs.
But if you've had a decent breakfast, you'll find the EP5 isn't much hillier than local park runs.
Sutcliffe and Dulwich parkruns are famously flat, and Bromley isn't a big deal. Avery Hill parkrun (Greenwich) has 42.1m of ascent. Footscray Meadows has 52m and Hilly Fields has 77m.
By comparison, the EP5 has 94m of ascent. Once you get into the woods, there are one or two sharp little inclines, but you'll hardly notice them as you admire the beauty of the surrounding ancient woodland. Sure, it's not flat, but it's a typical number for a midweek training run. The cheers from the spectators will likely spur you on. And the promise of cake and beer at the end of the race will give you that extra boost you need on the second lap.
Hilly it isn't. "Quite hilly", maybe. Perhaps if people can manage the Whinlatter Forest park run on a Saturday morning (200m of ascent), then the Eltham Park 5 looks moderately flat.
