🌷What Being Your Mum Means to Me🌷
Maya,
I’m not quite sure how much credit I can take for the resilience, determination and strength you show every day, your headstrong nature, your modesty, your hard work and the selfless, understated way you move through the world. But one thing I know for certain is how incredibly proud I am of the young woman you are becoming.
👯♀️Side by side we run, lift, sweat, laugh, compete, discuss, eat, moan and occasionally shop - I wouldn’t change a single moment of it.
✨As your mum, I want to be your rock and your biggest cheerleader, but also the person who is always honest when life gets hard.
I hope I can be the kind of role model that inspires you on your own journey through life.
All I ask is a little less go-go-go and a little more relax, slow down and chill!
To my favourite person in the world, Mothering you is my greatest achievement… and the only achievement that really matters.

London feels different this week. The air has shifted. It’s that in-between time.
Most of wait for a season to spark change in their habits.
Spring isn’t loud. It doesn’t announce itself. It teases you quietly….lighter mornings and evenings, more sunlight, warmer temperatures.
The body responds to these shifts long before the mind decides to.
Training in this season isn’t about aesthetics. It’s about recalibration.
✔️More daylight means more opportunity.
✔️More oxygen in the air means longer efforts.
✔️Less resistance in the mind means fewer excuses.
You don’t need reinvention. You need a new goal.

Many of you know me for fitness.

The HYROX come down is real ☹️
You train for months. You focus. You sacrifice. You show up in the rain. Then suddenly… it’s done.
So what next?
Firstly this is what my 1st HYROX taught me
📍You need a goal
A real one. A date in the diary. Something that pushes you forward on the days you don’t feel like it. When it’s dark. When it’s wet.
A goal gives training purpose. It turns “I should” into “I will.”
📍HYROX is accessible.
If, like me, you only followed elite athletes, you might think it’s out of reach. It’s not.
All fitness levels. All shapes and sizes. All ages. It’s not just about sub-1-hour athletes. That’s a tiny fraction of the field.
📍🏋You need to train properly 🏃♀️
• You need to run plenty - this is key.
• You need to train for strength.
• You need to know the rules for every single station.
• You need a plan in your head - especially in Doubles - who starts, who finishes, play to your strengths, always communicate with each other. Your plan might change on the day. But going in without one? That’s where things unravel.
📍It’s a lot of fun.
The atmosphere.The push through each station. The sense of achievement.
So… what next?

All the training in the world can’t prepare you for an anaphylactic reaction.
💕Maya, you are my hero💕

One more run to go. Two stations left. We were on track for a 1:07-1.10 finish.
Our first HYROX ended not at the finish line, but in the medical tent, diagnosed as an anaphylactic reaction. Drip, meds, and a race that slipped away. Nothing new eaten. Nothing new tried. A complete mystery.
But what mattered most was Maya’s strength. The way she pushed. The way she would not give up (until she could not see any more). I couldn’t be prouder.
Perhaps Friday 13th had other plans for us 🍀
The finish line will still be there. Rimini or Berlin….we’re coming back. 💪

Sometimes it’s just about pausing.
Training isn’t only about pushing.
Cold plunges, steam & sauna, geothermal mineral rich water. Good food, great company and rest.
Recovery is part of the work to enable you to
come back refreshed and stronger 💪🏼
