MAD FITNESS FESTIVAL 2026 🇪🇸 🍑

Juicy Bum Bums will be taking on the CrossFit Semifinals at Madrid Fitness Festival. Representing the team:
🔥 Kev
🔥 Xia
🔥 Liv
🔥 Ric

Qualifying for this stage is an incredible achievement in itself, and it reflects the countless tough training sessions, sacrifices, and hard work that have gone into getting here.

These four athletes have continually raised the standard within our community, pushing themselves and those around them to be better every single day. Now they have the opportunity to test themselves against some of the best teams in Europe on one of the biggest stages in the sport.

The entire community is behind you. We couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve achieved already, and we know you’re going to do yourselves, your teammates, and the gym proud out in Madrid.

Let’s show them what our gym is all about!

MONDAY. MURPH. TEST DAY.

For weeks the work has been building. Every Monday, every grind, every rep has been leading here.

Now it’s time to cash it in.

Partition it or send it unpartitioned.
Weight vest or no vest.
However it gets done, it gets earned.

This isn’t about comfort. It’s about showing up, embracing the hurt, and finding out what’s there when it gets tough.

Bank Holiday Monday.
Book in. Turn up. Empty the tank.

MEMBER OF THE MONTH: LISA!

This month, we’re celebrating Lisa, someone who quietly sets the standard through consistency, intent, and an unwavering commitment to improvement.

Over recent weeks, she has been arriving early to put in extra work, staying disciplined with her rehab while also dedicating time to building her gymnastics. That combination of patience and drive is what long-term progress looks like.

In class, she brings a cheerful energy, helps others without being asked, and has a natural way of making people feel welcome and comfortable. That kind of presence lifts the room, and it genuinely inspires others to raise their efforts too.

Last Saturday we dedicated a workout to Lisa for her hard efforts. Good job to everyone who joined her and showed their support.

23 in Quarterfinals 😤

A massive CONGRATULATION to our amazing athletes who have officially qualified for the 2026 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals.

All the training and hard work you’ve all put in has paid off, and to have this group of athletes represent the STPZ community on the leaderboard is awesome. We couldn’t be more proud.

Let’s freaking go team 🤪

Huge well done to everyone who completed the 2026 CrossFit Open! 👏

Whether you hit new milestones or simply showed up and gave it your all, you helped make this the best Open our gym has ever seen. It’s been amazing to watch everyone step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves, and push to new limits.

Across the gym, you all put in some incredible numbers:
- 10,466 wall balls
- 1,320 pull-ups
- 1,066 chest-to-bars
- 239 ring muscle-ups
- 5,634 burpees over bar
- 116,742kg cleaned

Unreal effort from everyone involved 💪 Proud of every single one of you!

A massive thank you from our head coach Kyle as well for tuning into Dad v Nerd on Instagram Live, supporting from afar, and making this his favourite Open to date. He already can’t wait for 2027! 🙌

Spirit of the Gym : Laura Grant and Joe Clarke 👏

They’re a great example of what our community is all about—consistently showing up, supporting others, and this week stepping up to judge as many athletes as possible while bringing the noise and backing everyone throughout. Absolute legends! (Don't worry they only get one set of points)

Intramural Team Standings:

1️⃣ Team Klaudia 3160
2️⃣ Team Kyle 3015
3️⃣ Team Anson 2975
4️⃣ Team Hannah 2965
5️⃣ Team Fil 2580

These points will carry through to the in-house throwdown on April 4th before our Easter social. It’s still all to play for, and even if you didn’t sign up for the intramural during the Open, turning up could still help a team take the win!

Let’s overthrow the purples!!!

13/03/2026

Big up to Kyle and Anson for smashing 26.3!

That was a brutal workout!

Here are some key points from the coaches

Anson
- Do the burpees very slow, at the start. Just keep moving and minimise resting time.

Kyle
- Don’t be afraid to do small sets, 3s on the cleans and thrusters.
- Start slow in the earlier round then find a manageable pace.
- Step up every burpee, don’t jump.
- How you change your plates between sets matters. Change one side do your burpees then change the other side.

In summary, don’t go out too hot in the 1st round as you’ll feel fresh with a lighter weight, breakup manageable sets and move at a pace that will sustain you throughout the workout.

The burpees will dictate the speed of the work out. We recommend stepping back up from the burpees and try and stay as close to the barbell as possible to minimise distance of each jump.

The plates MUST be performed by the athlete so plan in advance how you will change your plates. Suggest breaking up your burpees to fit in the weight changes.

Stay smooth, build your effort and stay strong!

Good luck to all performing 26.3 tomorrow.

MEMBER OF THE MONTH: XIA!

Over the past month, Xia has shown an incredible level of commitment and resilience. Despite dealing with illness and a persistent cough, she’s continued to show up by joining classes, making use of open gym, and putting in the work even when it would have been easy to stay away.

What’s stood out most is not just the consistency, but the mindset behind it. That perseverance and self-discipline embody exactly what our community is about: progress through persistence, not perfection.

Yesterday we hosted a dedicated workout to Xia, good job to all who came and smashed it!
