📚 READ TO YOUR CHILD AT BEDTIME… they said.
Apparently, reading together at bedtime is wonderful for bonding, language development, imagination and helping little ones wind down. ❤️
So naturally, I spent years reading The Gruffalo to my son.
Fast forward 14 years…
I now have a teenager who looks at my back, covered in prickly heat, and tells me:
“Mum… you look like the Gruffalo.” 🫠😂
All those bedtime stories have really come back to haunt me.
And yes… before you ask…
Purple prickles. 💜😂
The irony is not lost on me.
📖 Read to your children.
❤️ Make those bedtime memories.
🐾 Just be prepared for them to weaponise the Gruffalo against you years later.

📱🚨 DID THE GOVERNMENT ALERT INTERRUPT BEDTIME?!

Last night, just around 7pm, phones across the UK suddenly started blaring an emergency alert warning about the increased risk of fires after all the hot, dry weather.

Obviously the warning was important… but that SIREN! 😳

And it got me thinking — if your little one was just settling down for the night, how did they react?

Did it startle them? Did it delay bedtime? Or did they completely ignore it and carry on sleeping?! 😂

I’d love to know… did the emergency alert affect your little one’s bedtime last night? 👇

Imposter syndrome is a very real thing for me.
I’ve never really thought of myself as a “twins expert”... but when I actually stop and think about it, I’ve unintentionally built up a lot of experience with twins, both from my years as a nanny and through my work as a sleep consultant.
I’ve worked with so many twin families that I’ve been recommended within the twins community, and that experience has taught me so much.
But I’ll always believe there is more to learn. Every family is different, every child is different, and every situation is different.
So I don’t approach twins (or any family) with a one-size-fits-all answer.
I approach each case as an individual one... listen, learn, understand what’s going on and work out what will actually work for that family. And maybe I need to give myself a little more credit sometimes!

Anyone else? 😂
I hear white noise through the baby monitor and my whole body instantly relaxes.
It's like my brain has been conditioned to think... ✨ White noise = baby's asleep = I can finally switch off (for five minutes at least! 😅)
Please tell me I'm not the only one! 🙋‍♀️
What sound instantly makes you relax?

When you're trying to sneak out after finally settling your toddler... 😅🏃‍♀️💨
POV: You think you're in the Apex film as your toddler suddenly appears at the door chasing you down the hallway. 👀😂
If this feels a little too familiar, you're not alone.
Many toddlers struggle to settle independently and rely on a parent staying in the room until they're asleep. The moment you try to leave... they're right behind you.
The good news? It doesn't have to stay this way.
With the right approach, your toddler can learn to:
✨ Fall asleep without you lying next to them.
✨ Stay in bed at bedtime.
✨ Feel confident and secure in their own sleep space.
✨ Sleep more independently, without tears being the only option.
Every child is different, which is why I create a personalised sleep plan that works for your family. Whether your little one is a serial room escaper, bedtime negotiator or midnight visitor, I can help make bedtime calmer for everyone.
Tell me... what's the funniest place your toddler has followed you after bedtime? 😂👇
