Tideway Scullers School: Alec Hodges Courses

The Alec Hodges Courses are week-long intensive courses at Britain's top sculling club. There are usually 20-30 scullers on each course, depending on the tides.

And we don't think any other club can offer as many boats, and expert coaches, as us. Courses are for all abilities and all age groups, and attendees usually number 30-35. The aim is that everyone spends as much time in a single scull as possible, although there is also some crew boat sculling.

Sculling Courses — Tideway Scullers School The week will start with a group safety briefing, followed by an introduction to your coach and allotted boat for the week. The following days will begin with a shorter briefing with your coach, and a chance for questions and an opportunity to go over any points from the previous days rowing.

The weather was definitely not conducive, but we still managed to run a time trial this morning for the hardy souls on our supplementary ‘summer’ course.
